THE MERCY OF GOD.
Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV
It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, Because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness.
God’s mercy is His loving kindness and compassion that forgives, protects, and saves us—even when we mess up. It’s Him showing grace instead of punishment, always ready to restore and help.
This passage reveals something striking about God’s mercy: it preserves us. God’s mercy protects believers from destruction. The difference between believers and unbelievers lies in God’s mercy. In His mercy, we have assurance that God will never cast us away to perish.
The mercy of God is the hidden mystery of forgiveness. When God forgives sins, He casts them away forever (Micah 7:14-16). It is only through sin that the devil can easily destroy a believer. When a person has obtained mercy, the devil cannot win a case against them in judgment. Mercy always prevails in judgment.
One thing that qualifies us to enter God’s throne of grace is His mercy (Hebrews 4:16, Ephesians 2:6). When we pray, it’s important to understand that God’s mercy gives voice to our prayers in the spiritual realm. This is the secret behind the mercy seat in Exodus 25:17-22. When a believer cries for mercy, they activate the power of Jesus’ blood (Zechariah 9:10-12).
*Lesson:*
Never fight a man who has obtained mercy from God (Isaiah 43:3-4).
