Sometimes, change begins with simply showing up.

Every conversation with a girl is an opportunity to remind her that her future matters, her dreams are valid, and her circumstances do not have to define her story.

At Her Voice Foundation, we believe that when girls are given the right support, guidance and opportunities, they can make better choices and build better futures.

We are committed to creating spaces where girls can learn, speak, ask questions and know that they are not alone.

When Community Leaders Take a Stand.

Community leaders are trusted voices. When they speak up for girls, challenge early marriage and encourage families to keep girls in school, their influence can inspire real change.

When leaders take a stand, families listen, harmful practices can be challenged, and girls are given a stronger chance to learn, grow and build a better future.

Change begins when communities choose to use their voices to protect and empower their girls.

A second chance can change the direction of a young girl’s life.

Sometimes, life doesn’t go as planned. School may be interrupted. Circumstances at home may force a girl to put her dreams on hold. She may begin to believe that the opportunity she once had is gone for good.

But one thing every girl deserves to hear is: it is not too late.

A second chance says, “You can try again, you can learn again, you can build again. Your circumstances do not have to define your future.”

That is why opportunities like these matter. They give girls room to pick up the pieces, discover their abilities and take another step towards the future they imagined for themselves.

Sometimes, a second chance is all the encouragement a girl needs to believe in herself again.

Many of the stories shared during our Intergenerational Dialogue sessions highlighted the impact of financial hardship at home.

One of the girls recounted that she began taking care of her own needs at just 10 years old because her mother could only afford food. Her biggest concern was not what to wear, but whether there would be enough to eat.

Their responses reflected the strong connection they see between their mothers' wellbeing and their own future.

Her education doesn't have to end because of a lack of support.

Meet Awachire Favour, through the Her Voice Foundation Girls to Women Stronger Bolder Project, where, through tailoring, she is now earning her own income and providing for herself, and plans to put her earnings toward continuing her education.

At Her Voice Foundation, we help girls become economically empowered so they don't have to give up their dreams due to a lack of support.

A second chance can completely change a person's future and the perspective of community members towards young mothers.

At 19 years old when her parents could no longer afford her school fees Fidelia dropped out of school in SS2, believing her dream of completing secondary school was over.

Through Her Voice Foundation's Girls to Women: Stronger, Bolder Project, Fidelia was given a second chance. She returned to school, worked hard, and recently sat for her SSCE examinations.

Today, her story reminds us that one opportunity can change the course of a life.

In her words: "Never give up hope. One day God will send another person to help you."

Every girl deserves a second chance to learn, grow, and build a better future.

Young mothers need more than support. They need positive role models, bold dreams, and the chance to see what is possible.

At Her Voice Foundation, we are connecting young mothers with inspiring women who have beaten the odds and built successful lives.

We want girls to dream beyond what they see around them, enter STEM fields, lead in male-dominated spaces, and pursue ambitious careers in their countries and beyond.

Her Voice Foundation, with support from , is live at AU PANCOGEd in Bujumbura, Burundi.

As Africa gathers to discuss girls’ education, we are standing for teenage mothers and at-risk girls who are too often left out of classrooms and meaningful opportunities to reach their desired future.

Today, 122 million girls are out of school globally, while sub-Saharan Africa records 92 births per 1,000 girls aged 15–19.

These numbers remind us why second-chance pathways matter.

We are here to learn, share, and push for stronger investment in flexible learning, STEAM, TVET, digital skills, and livelihood support for girls who need another chance to learn, grow, and live with dignity.
