🌿✨ Green Academy Learners Explore Nature at Finima Nature Park! ✨🌿

On 30th May 2026, learners of the Green Academy embarked on an exciting educational excursion to the beautiful Finima Park
The excursion provided learners with a unique opportunity to step outside the classroom and experience nature firsthand. A total of 26 learners, accompanied by 3 facilitators from the Youth Resource Centre and 2 cameramen, participated in this memorable adventure.

🌱 Why the Excursion?

The visit was designed to help learners:

✅ Appreciate the beauty and importance of the natural environment.

✅ Observe different aspects of nature and biodiversity up close.

✅ Understand the role individuals and communities play in protecting the environment.

✅ Learn practical ways to promote environmental sustainability.

✅ Enjoy a fun, interactive, and refreshing outdoor learning experience.

Throughout the excursion, learners explored the park, observed the surrounding ecosystem, engaged in meaningful discussions about environmental conservation, and created lasting memories with their peers. The experience reinforced the importance of being responsible environmental stewards and highlighted how small actions can make a big difference in preserving our planet.

At Green Academy, we believe that some of the most impactful lessons happen beyond the four walls of a classroom. By connecting learners directly with nature, we are nurturing a generation that values, protects, and champions a greener future. 🌍💚

Last Saturday, 23rd May 2026, the Teens Business School had the privilege of hosting an inspiring and impactful leadership session with Engineer Adekunle Taiwo, President of the NLNG Cooperative Society.

During the session, he spoke extensively about success and the importance of setting clear goals and developing practical plans for the future. He encouraged the teens to be intentional about their dreams, emphasizing that success does not happen by chance, but through vision, preparation, discipline, and consistency.

He further explained the importance of having a strong personal mission and vision, noting that these serve as guiding principles that help individuals remain focused, determined, and resilient even in challenging times. According to him, young people who understand where they are going in life are more likely to make wise decisions and stay committed to their purpose.
Beyond discussions on success and leadership, the session also touched on faith, hope, integrity, and values. He reminded the students that good character and strong moral values are just as important as academic or professional achievements. He emphasized that true success is not only measured by accomplishments, but also by the kind of person one becomes in the process.

The session was highly interactive, motivating, and filled with practical life lessons that inspired the teens to think positively about their future, believe in themselves, and pursue excellence with determination and purpose.

Does taking a test truly reflect the knowledge and wisdom gained through learning?

Tests are designed to measure a student’s grasp of lessons taught, revealing intellectual skill and academic performance. Yet, they may not fully capture creativity, practical wisdom, or personal growth.

At The YRC Green Academy, we are committed to shaping minds, nurturing growth, and building a generation that values both knowledge and responsibility. Assessments help us measure understanding, progress, and the effectiveness of learning.

The recent test results were remarkable: the best student scored 90 points, followed closely by another at 88. Their achievements reflected dedication, excellence, and a strong grasp of the lessons, earning them warm recognition in class.

Beyond academics, students also engaged in a session on Waste Management, deepening their awareness of environmental issues. Our goal is to ensure that learning extends beyond the classroom—into practical knowledge, critical thinking, and real-world application.
