The 2026 edition of the Youth Leadership Master Class held on Saturday, 2nd May 2026, was an inspiring and impactful session facilitated by Mr. Kenneth Ezugwu, themed “Becoming a Person of Inspiration.”
The session emphasized that true leadership is not about titles, but about influence, character, and positive actions.
Students reflected on the lives of inspirational figures such as Lionel Messi, whose resilience led him to victory at the 2022 FIFA World Cup; Mahatma Gandhi, who demonstrated that leadership is influence, not force; and Mother Teresa, whose life exemplified compassion and selfless service.
Participants also explored practical leadership values within the school environment:

✔️ Doing the right thing
✔️ Helping others
✔️ Speaking the truth
✔️ Staying disciplined
✔️ Being responsible, even without supervision.

One major takeaway from the session was: “Leadership is by action, not appointment.”
Students were further encouraged to accept correction, learn from mistakes, and remain resilient despite challenges.
The day also featured group work, interactive games, and engaging activities. The session concluded with words of encouragement from Dr. Kalu Nwankwo, who urged the students to make meaningful use of the opportunities and resources provided by the YRC.
It was truly a memorable and transformational experience for all participants.

On Saturday, 2nd May 2026, Cohort 6 of the Teens Business School experienced an impactful and engaging fourth session led by Mr. Dim Chidiebere Victor, Manager of Stanbic IBTC Bank, Bonny Island.
He introduced the students to Business Risk Management—the art and science of identifying, analyzing, and managing risks that could affect a business. Through practical examples and interactive discussions, participants explored key risk categories, including financial, operational, strategic, and external risks.
The session went beyond theory. Students learned how businesses evaluate the likelihood and impact of risks, and the smart strategies used to manage them—whether by avoiding, reducing, transferring (such as through insurance), or accepting certain risks when necessary.
It was an inspiring session that equipped participants with a forward-thinking mindset—empowering them to make informed decisions, stay resilient in the face of uncertainty, and build businesses that can thrive and grow sustainably.

Over the past four weeks, our Emotional Intelligence Program for Young Adults (Cohort 6), delivered in partnership with Mould Africa, has been both deeply insightful and highly interactive.
Facilitated by the Centre Coordinator, Mr. Gibson Benstowe, and the Programs Coordinator, Miss Precious Emmanuel, the sessions have created an engaging learning environment where participants actively share, reflect, and connect real-life experiences to key emotional intelligence concepts.
Drawing from the book “I Wish I Knew This Before I Was Fourteen” by Tekena Ikoko, the cohort has explored thought-provoking and relatable chapters such as My First Crush, My Dad Was So Wrong, How Opposite Is the Opposite S*x, and The Dating Question. Each session goes beyond discussion—participants engage in conversations, scenario-based learning, and personal reflections that make the lessons practical and memorable.
The result has been a dynamic and enjoyable learning experience, where cohort members are not only having fun but also gaining valuable insights into understanding their emotions, building healthier relationships, and making more informed life decisions.

On Saturday, 11th April 2026, Mrs. Clara Amonia Odu facilitated a special session at the Teens Business School on “Building a Team and Organizational Management.”
The session focused on the importance of teamwork and effective collaboration in achieving shared goals. Teamwork was defined as the ability of individuals with diverse skills, creativity, and perspectives to work together toward a common objective. The facilitator emphasized that building a strong team requires bringing together people with varied strengths, ideas, and expertise to enhance productivity and innovation.
Mrs. Odu noted that conflicts are inevitable in any team setting and may lead to disagreements or discouragement if not properly managed. However, she highlighted that such challenges can be effectively addressed through calm communication, active listening, mutual understanding, and a solution-oriented approach rather than assigning blame.
Key roles within a functional team were identified, including the visionary, accountant, marketer/advertiser, manager, and data recorder. The session also underscored the importance of respect, empathy, cultural awareness, and adaptability, especially when navigating unexpected situations.
In conclusion, the facilitator reiterated that teamwork is essential for organizational success, and with the right structure and mindset, teams can achieve their goals regardless of challenges.

On Saturday, 11th April 2026, the Green Academy Cohort 2 classes officially commenced with a session on the theme “The Earth and Her Resources.”
The program was introduced by the Manager of the Youth Resource Centre, who welcomed the participants and set the tone by emphasizing the importance of sustainability as a critical approach to preserving the environment. The facilitator further expanded on this by explaining how unsustainable practices can adversely affect human health and ultimately reduce life expectancy.
Participants were then divided into groups for an interactive discussion session, which took place from 1:40 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Following this, the facilitator engaged the groups through a structured question-and-answer segment, where each group responded through their appointed secretaries.
Group A adopted the name “Ecological Unism,” while Group B identified as “Geolife Connect.” The session was both engaging and insightful, fostering collaboration and deepening participants’ understanding of environmental sustainability.

At the Ladies Time-Out meeting on Tuesday, 24th February 2026, Mrs. Clara Odu spoke on the topic “Relationship & Wellbeing.”
She emphasized that healthy relationships begin with self-discovery, clear personal goals, and emotional intelligence. She encouraged the girls to prioritize growth in character, education, career, and faith, explaining that these foundations shape the kind of relationships they attract and sustain.
Mrs. Odu highlighted that a healthy relationship brings peace of mind, emotional stability, mutual respect, and reciprocal love. In such relationships, boundaries are honored, your “no” is respected, and purpose is valued over pressure.
She concluded by reminding the girls that self-love is essential. It protects you from accepting harmful behavior and empowers you to choose relationships that genuinely support your wellbeing and long-term growth.
