Strategic Representation at the Environmental Parliament

Our esteemed Director, Dr. Mrs. Lolo Fubara Sax Hailsham, attended the Environmental Parliament held on July 9, 2025, at the Faculty of Education Auditorium, University of Port Harcourt.

Her presence marked a strategic engagement that reflects our clear commitment to environmental education and advocacy.

Hosted by the Department of Adult and Non-Formal Education in collaboration with the Health of Mother Earth Foundation (HOMEF), the event focused on the theme: "Educate to Liberate: Advancing Environmental Justice through Learning."

The keynote was delivered by the distinguished Rev. Dr. Nnimmo Bassey, MFR, whose insights highlighted the urgent need to embed environmental consciousness into educational systems.

Dr. Hailsham’s presence at the session positioned our leadership among institutions working to shape informed and responsible citizen action.

Her engagement throughout the event reinforced the role of strategic leadership in connecting policy, education, and community-driven solutions.

GREAT WORKS ARE DONE BY GREAT TEAMS

Great works are done by great teams, and this year’s success with the Happy Kids Project is a testament to that truth.

To the incredible team at ACSEF, thank you for your dedication and hard work. From the initial phase of surveying the selected schools and gathering samples of their uniforms, to engaging the tailor, purchasing materials, and ensuring every stitch was perfect—you made it happen.

Every step, from planning to ex*****on, was done with heart and purpose.

The smiles on the children’s faces are because of your dedication and commitment. You stood in the field, gave your time, energy, and passion to ensure that every child felt seen, valued, and proud.

Thank you for making this vision a reality.

A NEW UNIFORM, A NEW BEGINNING.

Every child deserves to feel proud, confident, and seen. Through the ACSEF Happy Kids Project, we gave these amazing kids more than just uniforms—we gave them hope, dignity, and a reminder that they matter.

Together, we’re helping shape brighter futures, one smile at a time.

Watch the joy unfold.

REACHING THE UNREACHED.

In the quiet corners of Bonny Island, where dreams often seem far away, we arrived with a simple gift—a new uniform. But it meant so much more. It brought joy, pride, and the feeling of belonging to children who need it most.

Together, we’re reaching hearts, inspiring hope, and changing lives.

See the smiles that say it all.

ACSEF Happy Kids Project: Lighthouse Community Primary School, Finima

On the second day, we headed early to Lighthouse Community Primary School, located at the edge of Bonny main town in a fishing village. Mrs. Rachael G. Allison, the Headmistress, along with the teachers, welcomed us warmly.

The children were quiet at first, their excitement showing in wide eyes and shy smiles. Many come from families with little, so the gift of a uniform meant the world to them. As they slipped into their new uniforms, joy lit up their faces. Some hugged their clothes close, while others twirled in delight.

The teachers watched with pride as the children’s happiness filled the schoolyard. It was a simple gift, but it brought so much pride and hope.

This visit marked the end of the Happy Kids Project 2024, and it couldn’t have ended in a better place, surrounded by pure joy.

ACSEF Happy Kids Project: Central School Bonny

Day one continued with a visit to Central School Bonny, where Headmistress Mrs. Darling I. Jumbo greeted us with warmth. The school buzzed with excitement as teachers and students gathered, ready to welcome us.

The children’s curiosity was evident—some peeking shyly from behind their teachers, others bouncing with anticipation. When the uniforms were distributed, the energy shifted. Boys and girls proudly slipped into their new outfits, their smiles growing wider with each passing moment. Little ones giggled as they admired their fresh, matching attire, while teachers exchanged grateful looks, knowing how much this gesture meant.

In those joyful faces, we saw confidence blossom and pride take root. Thank you to everyone who supported this project.

ACSEF Happy Kids Project: St. Michael CAC School Bonny

We arrived at St. Michael CAC School Bonny just in time for the morning devotion. The punctual Headmistress, Mrs. Patience Pepple M., greeted us warmly, surrounded by teachers already preparing for the day. Children trickled in—some crying softly, others chattering excitedly, the schoolyard alive with their energy.

Joining them in their devotion, we felt the assemply fill with warmth as the children’s voices rose in song and prayer. When the uniforms were handed out, everything changed. Small hands eagerly reached out, little boys stood taller, and girls twirled in their new dresses with pride.

The joy was contagious—smiles spread like wildfire, and the school buzzed with laughter. Teachers looked on with quiet pride, knowing how much this moment would mean to these children.

A simple uniform, yet it brought so much: confidence, dignity, and a sense of belonging. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.

ACSEF Happy Kids Project: A Gift of Joy and Confidence

Smiles stretched wide across Bonny Island as ACSEF’s Happy Kids Project unfolded on November 25th and 26th. Under the compassionate leadership of our Director and Founder, Dr. Mrs. Lolo Fubara Sax Hailsham, the team distributed free school uniforms at three primary schools:

1. Central School Bonny: primary boys and girls
2. St. Michael CAC School Bonny: nursery and primary boys and girls
3. Lighthouse Community Primary School Finima: nursery and primary boys and girls

The excitement was palpable. Children eagerly received their new uniforms, each piece more than just fabric—it was a symbol of pride and belonging.

Teachers watched with gratitude as the children transformed, their slouched shoulders lifting, their hesitant smiles blossoming into bright grins.

One little boy at Central School Bonny slipped into his uniform and immediately spun around, showing it off to his friends. His face beamed with pride.

At St. Michael CAC School, a group of nursery girls giggled together as they admired their new outfits, their laughter filling the room.

Over at Lighthouse Community School, the energy was electric—children waved excitedly at our team, proudly wearing their uniforms like badges of honor.

The sight of those joyful faces reaffirmed what this project is all about: showing each child that they matter, that they are seen and valued. Uniforms may seem simple, but they carry the power to build confidence, foster unity, and inspire dreams.

To everyone who supported this initiative—thank you. Your support is making a difference, one child at a time. And as the children of Bonny Island step into 2025, they do so with confidence, pride, and joy.

We envision an Africa where every Woman has equal opportunity to work, grow, learn, be educated, to pursue a career of her Choice and make decisions concerning her body and health without intimidation from the society.

We envision an Africa where Women are actively involved in leadership, policy and decision making process across all tiers of Government beginning right from their various Communities and grassroots.

We envision an Africa where it is the responsibility of all to protect the dignity of the girl child, an Africa where the girl Child is supported and encouraged to grow, an Africa where the girl Child is seen as a potential Woman and a valuable member of the society that needs to be protected and nurtured rather than "a thing" to be abused, battered and molested.
