From last week to yesterday has been an engaging moment for me, especially, and for the IHF team. Truly , Masha Allah….A new dawn for CBOs/CSOs in Birniwa as you read through 🤩🙌
IHF team visited Ari-Adam kudu for the condolence of my cousin, and we also had an interaction session with some members of the community on the importance of peaceful coexistence and community self-help.
The team also visited Dagaceri community over the insecurity incident that occurred, which resulted in some people being killed. We discussed with the community members on the need to embrace peace and be vigilant. We advised them to form a CBO, through which they can discuss their issues and channel them to the appropriate authorities for solution.
IHF made history in Birniwa. The Foundation (IHF) coordinated and facilitated the first meeting of about 17 CBOs/CSOs in Birniwa. The CBOs/CSOs formed a coalition. The organisations will be working together and speaking with one voice on all issues in Birniwa.
Thank you all for showing interest in what we do and for your support 👏❤️!

UPDATE ON OUR IYA HAUWA FOUNDATION (IHF) FULANI YOUTH EDUCATION PROGRAM… Slowly but surely In Shaa Allah
The Iya Hauwa Foundation (IHF) is pleased to announce its first month significant progress in the Fulani Youth Education Initiative, a transformative project aimed at empowering Fulani youth through quality education. This initiative reflects our steadfast belief that education is not simply a fundamental right; it is a collective responsibility essential for empowering individuals and strengthening communities.
We are excited to showcase the positive developments stemming from this initiative through videos that capture our students' learning experiences.
This nine-months educational cycle closely aligns with the curriculum developed by the Jigawa State Agency for Mass Literacy (AML), ensuring that adult learners receive a quality, relevant education tailored to meet their diverse needs. By addressing the learning gaps faced by the Fulani community, we aim to build a foundation for more equitable opportunities.
As this program continues to gain momentum, we reaffirm our commitment to expanding its reach and enhancing its impact. We believe that collaboration among all stakeholders—including community members and other organisations especially those working in the education sector is vital to paving the way for a brighter future for our youth.
Thank you for your interest in what we do. We invite you to stay connected with us as we continue to share updates and impactful stories from this life-changing program.
May Allah continue to guide us to continue in the right direction, Aamin

EXCITING NEWS ON OUR FULANI YOUTH EDUCATION PROGRAM!
by IHF https://iyahauwafoundation.org/
Our Esteemed Supporters and Followers,
We are elated to share the remarkable progress of our Fulani Youth Education Program, which is now fully prepared for a successful take off, In Shaa Allah. With great enthusiasm, we have partnered with the Jigawa State Agency for Mass Literacy, which has generously offered its technical expertise to enhance the quality of our education program. As a result of this collaboration, we have extended the duration of each educational cycle to nine months instead of the previously planned three to six months in order to comply with the AML’s curriculum. We are proud to have adapted our curriculum in line with the Agency's standards and to incorporate their specialized textbooks into our teaching methodology. Upon completing this program, students will be awarded a certificate from the Agency for Mass Literacy, an essential certificate for those who may wish to further their education. This alignment will ensure that our students receive a consistent and quality educational experience.
In preparation for our classes, our dedicated teachers have undergone intensive training this week. This training was designed to elevate their ability to engage with students, resulting in a more effective and productive learning experience.
In addition, we are thrilled to announce our collaboration with the Jigawa State Agency for Nomadic Education. Through this partnership, four of our teachers will be supported with a monthly allowance of 10,000 Naira, expected to be provided by Birniwa Local Government, supplementing what the Iya Hauwa Foundation (IHF) will pay them.

By the grace of the Almighty, today our team will visit these communities and provide them with small solar power system for smooth running classes in the evening. We’ve also provided smart boards and books for both the teachers and the students. We are excited to inform you that classes will officially commence tomorrow Monday, in the three communities of Aruwa, Bulturi, and Rigar Wargale.

We invite you to stay connected with us as we continue to share updates on this transformative program. We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported this important initiative, especially those who provided us with invaluable advice. We are grateful Jigawa State Government through the Agency for Mass Literacy and the State Agency for Nomadic Education. A special thank you goes to the Executive Secretaries, Dr. Abbas A. Abbas and Hajia Ramatu, for their support. We would also like to recognize Hajia Dr. Zainab Hammanga for her generous donation that covered the first month's allowance for our teachers, which reflects her commitment to our mission.

At IHF, we remain steadfast in our belief that education is a powerful tool for transforming challenges into opportunities. We extend our deepest appreciation to our incredible IHF team for their unwavering dedication and commitment to ensuring the successful implementation of this program.

May Allah continue to guide us and inspire us as we strive to in the right direction. Aamin.

LAUNCH OF IHF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR FULANI YOUTHS.
In a landmark achievement, the Iya Hauwa Foundation (IHF) has launched a comprehensive educational program tailored specifically for Fulani youths, thereby fulfilling its promise announced earlier on social media. This initiative underscores IHF's dedication to empowering marginalized communities through education.
The IHF team successfully engaged Islamic and Western education teachers in Birniwa Local Government Area, Jigawa State, to participate in the program. This collaborative effort ensures a well-rounded education, combining the benefits of Islamic knowledge with Western educational principles.
A maiden meeting at Rugar Bulturi marked the official launch of the program, which is expected to benefit 76 Fulani youths. The event drew enthusiastic support from community stakeholders and members, who recognize the transformative potential of education.
The village head of Kishinde delivered a heartfelt speech, pledging unwavering support and appreciation to the IHF team. Participating youths shared their excitement and expectations, believing the program will enhance their lives and unlock new opportunities.
Representatives from two other locations attended the launch event, demonstrating the program's expansive reach and potential for growth. Classes are expected to commence shortly after Ramadan, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of these Fulani youths. We gave each of the participants and all their teachers tree 🌳 to take care of it just the way they will take care of their education for the betterment of their environment.
The IHF will cover all program expenses, including teachers' fees and materials, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the pursuit of knowledge. However, donations and support from individuals and organizations are welcome to contribute to this noble cause, amplifying the program's impact and sustainability.
This initiative demonstrates IHF's commitment to empowering Fulani youths through education, bridging the gap in rural communities, and fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.

🙏😁
Dear all, compliments of the season and Happy new year 🥳
We are happy to inform you all, our esteemed supporters and followers that we have rebranded and restructured our organisation (Iya Hauwa Foundation, IHF).
Work already in progress at advanced stages!
In line with the above, we are happy to inform you all that this year we have restructured our youth engagement templates, specifically on our activities in the education sector. Under the new arrangement, we will embark on educational and social programs for our Fulani youth both males and females within the age bracket of 15 to 25 years. We are starting with Birniwa Local Government and subsequently to scale up the programs to more communities in Jigawa State.
We will be open to more suggestions and inputs to enrich our programs.
The youth education program is structured as follows:

Comprehensive IHF learning modules that include basic Islamic Education, Numeracy & Literacy and Creative Learning for the overall youth development. All the students will be guided on the relevant social media handles and pages to follow. Trends that can help in shaping their thinking and mindsets and subsequently help them to be more focused on issues that will add values to their development and productivity. Already, most of these young people are engaged in profitable animal rearing but additional modern skills will be introduced to impact on them at some points in other to either improve their rearing skills or their productivity and profitability.
Modules will be taught three times a week. Jumaat Mosques and community shelters will be used as the learning centres.
Detail students information (Names, Phone numbers, social media handles) will be documented and at some point these young people will be registered for NIN and bank accounts will be opened (for those who don’t have one).
There will be a pilot survey to ascertain their preliminary levels of knowledge and insights of these modules preceding the training sessions. At the end of the program, each participant will be issued with a certificate for participation.
The estimated duration for the program will be minimum of three months and six months maximum.

Teachers will be sourced from within the community or the neighbouring communities and they will be paid a token amount as monthly allowance/stipend.

Locations for the pilot program:

1. Rugar Aruwa…. Nguwa Ward
2. Rugar Bulturi…. Diginsa Ward
3. Rugar Wargale… Batu Ward
May Allah SWT see us through with a resounding success as we relentlessly strive to improve the lots and conditions of our people and community in general.
Thank you all.

Iya Hauwa Foundation in partnership with the team from Leicester University and UK Economic and social research council led by Dr Zainab Maiborno has conducted workshops on Theories of Change “Women Participation in peace building processes” Iya Hauwa Foundation has coordinated the attendance of the organisations and traditional institutions from Jigawa State during the 2 sets of workshops that were conducted.
It is well known that violent conflict and insecurity have increased across states and communities in Nigeria over the past few years. There are cases of banditry, kidnapping, cultism, armed robbery, indigene- settler disputes, intra- and intergroup conflicts, and farmer-herder clashes across the country to varying degrees of intensity. These violent acts disproportionately affect women, young girls, children, and persons with disabilities. Some state governments have put in place peace and security committees to find solutions to these issues but there is little inclusion of women and persons with disabilities in these committees even though women’s participation in peacebuilding processes has been recognised in yielding positive outcomes with great impact even at the family level.
There is need for everyone to be involved in finding lasting solutions to the challenges we are facing as community and society.
