Big News for Kebbi State!
Change is coming to Kebbi State as the Strengthening Social protection systems for gender transformative and climate smart safety net (SOSAN) project Funded by the European Union and led by Oxfam in consortium with ASWHAN, Solidarity international and Jireh Doo foundation.
held a State level inception meeting in Kebbi State.
The Governor of Kebbi State who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Umar Abubakar Tafida and the First Lady who was represented by Hajiya Ramatu Usman-Dabai of the Ministry of Livestock Development and Fisheries, they pledged their full support to make sure this project isn't just a moment, but a lasting movement for human development.

This €10 million initiative is a massive step toward ending poverty and building climate resilience in our communities.
Here’s a look at the impact:
* Direct Support: Over 44,740 vulnerable households (roughly 328,000 individuals) across 6 LGAs will benefit directly.
* Empowering People: Secure cash transfers will put capital directly into the hands of those who need it most, alongside vocational training in IT and e-commerce for over 2,000 women and youth.
* Food Security: We’re talking 315 community food banks to fight hunger during lean seasons and climate-smart training for our farmers.
* Modern Systems: The project will help Kebbi establish a transparent, automated State Social Safety Net Register to ensure aid always reaches the right people.
Together with the consortium we’re focusing on agriculture, livelihood support, and a brighter future for every child and family in Kebbi State.
