Kebbi State RWVL Nigeria Project Steering Committee Inaugurated to Strengthen Women’s Voices and Leadership

The Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership (RWVL) Nigeria Project Steering Committee was officially constituted and inaugurated on 29th July 2026 at Jamvaly Hotel and Resort, Kebbi State.

The 12-member Steering Committee comprises representatives from Key Government Ministries, Financial Institutions, Civil Society Organizations, Disability Inclusion Groups and Project Coordinators. The committee was established to provide strategic direction, oversight, coordination, and support towards the successful implementation and sustainability of the RWVL Nigeria Project in Kebbi State.

Members of the Steering Committee include representatives from two Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), a Lead Women’s Rights Organization, Bank of Industry, Zenith Bank, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), the RWVL Project Manager, and the RWVL Northern Coordinator.

The inauguration signifies a renewed commitment among stakeholders to promote women’s economic resilience, amplify women’s voices, advance gender equality, strengthen inclusive participation, and ensure the achievement of the RWVL Nigeria Project objectives in Kebbi State.

What happens when supervision goes beyond routine? Real impact.

On 29th June 2026, the Centre for Clinical Care and Clinical Research Nigeria (CCCRN) team visited KTMDI in Kebbi State through the Transforming Health and Resilience for Individuals Through Vibrant Empowerment (THRIVE) Project, not just to review activities, but to strengthen the way impact is delivered.

What started as a technical visit quickly became a space for honest conversations, problem-solving, and shared learning. Together, gaps were identified, solutions were refined, and a clearer path for stronger implementation emerged.

With renewed focus on accurate, timely, and complete documentation, the team is now better positioned to track progress, improve accountability, and make informed decisions that enhance service delivery.

More than a visit, it was a moment of growth, building capacity, reinforcing best practices, and driving continuous quality improvement.

This wasn’t just supervision. It was clarity. It was learning. It was a shift.

Because sometimes, the right support at the right time doesn’t just fix gaps, it strengthens the entire system

“It Was Just Data… Until It Wasn’t”

On the first day of the training, I looked at the numbers the way I always had, percentages, indicators, reports.
Just data.

But somewhere between the conversation, the laughter, the hard truth, and the shared experiences over those three days, something shifted.

The numbers began to speak.
They were no longer just figures on a page.
They became the young woman who dared to speak up in a political meeting. The girl who wants to lead but is told to stay silent.
The countless voices of women and girls pushing for space in a system that often overlooks them.

That was when it hit me that data is not just numbers. It is people. It is voices. It is real change waiting to be seen and heard.
Through the Monitoring & Evaluation sessions, I learned how to track that change, to go beyond counting numbers and begin measuring impact that truly matters. But it didn’t stop there.

Because what is impact if no one hears about it?

The communication sessions opened my eyes even more. I learned that telling the story is just as important as collecting the data, how we communicate can amplify voices, challenge systems, and inspire action.
That behind every statistic is a story worth telling and it is our responsibility to tell it well.
Now, I don’t just see my role as tracking progress.
I see it as capturing voices, telling stories, and driving changes especially for women and girls striving to take their rightful place in politics.

Because if we don’t tell these stories, who will?
And if we don’t amplify these voices, how will change truly happen?

This is no longer just data to me.
This is purpose.
