Happy Workers’ Day

Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and dedication of every hardworking individual who keeps our communities, businesses, and nation moving forward. From the early risers to the late-night hustlers, your effort does not go unnoticed. You are the backbone of progress, and your commitment shapes a better future for all of us.

Workers’ Day is not just a celebration, it’s a reminder of the value of dignity in labour, fair opportunities, and the need to continue supporting one another. Whether you are employed, self-employed, learning a skill, or building something from scratch, your work matters and your impact is real.

As we celebrate today, let’s also encourage growth, fairness, and respect in every workplace. Keep pushing, keep striving, and never underestimate the power of your hard work.

Happy Workers’ Day to you! ✊🏽

On Saturday, 25 April 2026. KTMDI, with support from the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), successfully convened an Engagement Meeting with Political Parties in Gwandu Emirate, held at Jamvally Hotels and Resorts, Kebbi State.

The meeting brought together key members from different political parties, creating a platform for critical dialogue focused on strengthening women’s political participation in governance and decision-making processes.

Discussions centered on the importance of increasing women’s representation, breaking barriers to participation and building a more inclusive political space in Kebbi State.

This engagement marks another important step toward amplifying women’s voices and ensuring their meaningful inclusion in leadership at all levels.

Together we are advancing a future where women’s participation is not optional but essential.

International Women’s Day 2026 Statement
By Kungiyar Tallafin Mata Development Initiatives (KTMDI)

Today, Kungiyar Tallafin Mata Development Initiatives joins the world to celebrate International Women's Day 2026 under the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.”

This year’s theme is a powerful reminder that while progress has been made, many women and girls still face barriers that limit their access to opportunities, education, health services, leadership, and economic empowerment.

At KTMDI, we believe that sustainable development is impossible without the full participation and empowerment of women and girls. Every woman deserves the right to live with dignity, to be heard, and to have equal opportunities to thrive.

Our Call to Action
Promote and protect the rights of women and girls in every community.

Strengthen support systems that enable women to participate in leadership and decision-making.

Invest in education, health, and economic opportunities for girls and women.

Encourage communities to stand against discrimination and gender-based violence.

As we mark this important day, KTMDI calls on government institutions, civil society organizations, community leaders, and individuals to move beyond commitments and take concrete actions that ensure justice, equality, and opportunity for every woman and girl.
When women are empowered, families are stronger, communities are healthier, and societies prosper.

Together, let us turn rights into reality, justice into fairness, and action into lasting change for all women and girls. ✨💜

Women make up nearly half of Nigeria’s population, yet they hold less than 4% of elected positions at the national level. This is not just a gap, it is a loss of voices, ideas, and solutions our nation needs.
A democracy is strongest when everyone is represented. When women lead, communities grow stronger, policies become more inclusive, and the future becomes fairer for all.
It is time to stand side by side. It is time to open the doors. It is time to ensure women have a rightful seat at the table.
Support inclusive leadership. Support the Special Seats Bill. Support women. Support Nigeria’s future.
