COMMUNIQUÉ OF THE 2ND EDITION OF NUPE NATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE, (NNYC 2025).

1. Introduction
The 2nd Edition of the Nupe National Youth Conference was convened to foster dialogue among Nupe youths, policymakers, traditional leaders, and scholars toward strengthening socio-economic development, cultural preservation, and youth empowerment within KinNupe.
The conference featured keynote addresses, paper presentations, and panel discussions from distinguished personalities across academia, public service, and civil society, focusing on the intersection of heritage, youth development, and inclusive growth.
RESOLUTIONS:
1. It was resolved to incorporate Nupe Language into the state’s educational curriculum emphasized that mother-tongue instruction enhances teaching and learning effectiveness.
2. Stakeholders advocated for holistic youth empowerment, policy dialogue, cultural heritage preservation, and strategic partnerships as integral pathways to fostering creativity, innovation, and sustainable socio-economic development.
Youth Empowerment Strategies:
A. Equip youths with relevant vocational and digital skills.
B. Promote consistency and diligence as pathways to success.
C. Reduce unemployment across Nupe-speaking communities through capacity building and innovation.
Key Strategies for Developments:
1. Establish clear and achievable goals.
2. Explore new opportunities for socio-economic advancement.
3. Seek mentorship for career and personal growth.
4. Expand professional and social networks.
5. Track progress efficiently and transparently.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Legislative leaders should initiate foreign scholarship programs for deserving Nupe youths, especially the underprivileged with academic potential.
2. Revitalize Nupe cultural identity and heritage marks.
3. Integrate Nupe language into the primary school curriculum.
4. Promote internal cultural norms, values, and ethics across KinNupe.
5. He stressed the importance of environmental consciousness and the role of youths in mitigating air pollution, deforestation, and other ecological challenges.
6. Formation of a Nupe Excel Development Initiatives (NEDI) Green Taskforce for tree planting and environmental advocacy,
7. Routine community sanitation exercises, and viewing the environment as a collective asset for future generations.
8. Youth and stakeholders should encourage to support civic engagements.
9. Advocated integrity in leadership and electoral conduct.
10. Urged traditional institutions to reconnect with grassroots communities — appointed traditional rulers and religious leaders whose presence in their respective assigned localities will bring hope of connectivity, have all structured their houses within the town, precisely in Bida, which is not ideal.
11. Emphasized prioritizing education as the foundation for societal progress.
12. Highlighted the poor cultural engagement among Nupe residents in urban areas.
13. Called for the revival of Bidalite, once a strong socio-political pressure group in Bida that advocates for critical developments of the community.
14. Warned against the rising insecurity within Nupe-speaking regions, which is as a result of internal informants within our people.
15. Advocated using social media platforms to combat insecurity through awareness campaigns.
16. Explained the recommendation algorithm in social media as a means of promoting positive, culture-oriented content.
17. Emphasized the consequences of deforestation and the importance of tree planting.
18. Urged environmental education in Nupe language for rural dwellers to ensure comprehension and participation.
19. Highlighted that Nupe cultural norms and values are vital tools for moral and social development of the youths race.
20. Revealed plans for a unified Nupe digital platform, www.nupe.ng, to promote unity and cultural preservation,
21. Advised prioritizing honesty, transparency, and promotion of Nupe content across media platforms.
22. Establishment of a Nupe Youth Development Network to coordinate empowerment initiatives.
23. Advocacy for cultural integration in education, to inculcate Nupe language in the syllabus system of Primary schools and governance.
24. Promotion of environmental stewardship among Nupe youths.
25. Strengthening collaboration between traditional institutions, government, and youth organizations.
*FINAL NOTE OF RECOMMENDATIONS:*
The conference concluded with a renewed commitment by participants to reimagine the socio-economic future of KinNupe, uphold cultural heritage, and champion youth-driven development across all sectors; employment opportunities and empowerment.
The gathering affirmed that the future of KinNupe lies in the unity, innovation, and integrity of its youth.
