CONDOLENCE MESSAGE ON THE PASSING OF DR. UMAR M. SAGANUWAN

The Nupe Excel Development Initiative mourns with deep sorrow the passing of Dr. Umar M. Saganuwan, former Chairman of Bida Forum — a towering voice, an advocate of progress, and a man whose presence was ever felt at the forefront of initiatives geared towards the development of Bida and the entire KinNupe.

Dr. Saganuwan was not only a leader but a beacon of hope, a unifying figure, and a passionate crusader for growth, enlightenment, and advancement in our homeland. His contributions to community mobilization, intellectual engagement, and socio-economic advocacy remain remarkable footprints in the sands of history.

This indeed is a sad day for Bida, KinNupe, and all who had the honour of knowing and working with him. We have lost a great voice — one that spoke firmly for development, unity, and progress.

We pray that the Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings, grants him eternal rest, and rewards him with Al-Jannah Firdaus. May He comfort the family, associates, and the entire Nupe community during this moment of grief.

Signed:
Amb. Abdullah Abubakar,
Executive Secretary,

Our Stand

Voting is the constitutional right of every citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Every individual has the right to vote and be voted for. As we approach one of the most crucial elections the Local Government Election, which represents the third tier of government. it is essential that all stakeholders uphold peace and focus on policy-based campaigns.

The electoral umpires must ensure a level playing field for all parties and candidates, guaranteeing free, fair, and transparent processes. Similarly, security agencies have a vital role to play in maintaining peace, order, and safety throughout the election period.

As a voter, it is your right to cast your vote for the candidate of your choice, free from influence, intimidation, or inducement. The local government is the tier of government that most directly impacts your daily life. Therefore, your choice in this election must be guided by a commitment to the social and structural development of your immediate community.

Elections are a civic responsibility, and all activities and processes related to them must reflect civility, orderliness, and respect for democratic values.

We commend His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Hon. Umar Bago, for providing citizens the opportunity to exercise their civic rights and for creating a transparent environment in which this election can take place. We encourage and support his continued commitment to ensuring a credible and peaceful electoral process.

We extend our best wishes to all candidates and citizens participating in this democratic exercise. Congratulations to all and may the best candidates win.
