Are you sure you really know what Democracy is?

Democracy is like a community meeting where πžπ―πžπ«π²π›π¨ππ² 𝐑𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐚𝐲 in how things are run. Imagine that Nigeria is a large family – Democracy is the power that ensures the person "holding the keys" to the family's money and food is someone everyone actually trusts.

In Nigeria, your vote is the only tool you have to "hire" the right leaders and "fire" those who don't perform. When we choose leaders based on their ability to fix our roads, equip our clinics, and protect our children, we are making democracy work for us. If we don’t vote, we are letting someone else choose our "contractor" for the next four years.

As we look toward 2027 general elections, remember this: A good leader is like a good farmer – they care for the soil so everyone can eat. Let’s start the journey of choosing competence over "stomach infrastructure." It’s time to become champions for our own futures!

Are you a registered voter? If not, visit the nearest INEC office or registration centre closest to you.

Register to vote today to better democracy.

Together with our partners, we commemorated this year's International Day of the Boy child with an exclusive hangout attended by over 30 young boys.

Under the theme "Flourish and Thrive: Investing in Boys for Stronger Families and Communities," we spent the day challenging mindsets and inspiring a new standard of leadership. It wasn’t just a series of talks, it was an intentional investment in the future of our nation. The boys had the opportunity to ask learn, ask questions and bond over games.

At YLN, we believe that when a boys flourish, the entire community thrives. We are proud to be the catalyst for that growth.

The future is bright, and it starts with these young leaders.

On this International Day of the Boy Child 2026, our Executive Director, Onarinde Justin Seun, shares a powerful perspective on why the society must be intentional about how we raise our boys.

A thriving, inclusive Africa isn't possible without men who understand that they are partners in progress. When we equip the boy child with the right values, we aren't just helping him – we are ensuring a future where everyone has access to equal opportunities and a seat at the table.

True leadership is about building a society where no one is left behind.

On this International Day of the Boy Child 2026, the men of Young Leaders Network(YLN) took a moment to reflect. If they could go back in time, what would they tell their younger selves? And what do they want the younger boys in our community to know right now?

These are lessons for the next generation of leaders.

At YLN, we believe that raising responsible men is key to building strong families and a sustainable future for our continent.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a young boy today? Add yours in the comments.
