Bauchi Youth Religious Advocacy Network Participation in JISRA Interfaith Activities
The Bauchi Youth Religious Advocacy Network (BYRAN) , a YouthCARE Project under Search for Common Ground participated in two significant interfaith activities organized by the Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA) in collaboration with FOMWAN and DREP. These events were aimed at fostering peace, dialogue, and collaborative action among religious and community stakeholders.
1. Interfaith Religious Dialogue
This dialogue session brought together representatives from the communities of Doruwan Babuje and Gindin Akwati at Jos. Participants engaged in open discussions to identify and address the root causes of violent conflict in their communities. The forum served as a safe space for participants to share experiences, promote mutual understanding, and develop a communique of resolutions aimed at conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
2. Interreligious Town Hall Meeting
Following the dialogue, an interreligious town hall meeting was held, convening a broader stakeholders including religious leaders, traditional rulers, state commissioners, councillors, and other relevant actors.
The Stakeholders made commitments on improving peace and Tranquility in these two communities.
