Following the tree plantation exercise, the fellows paid a visit to the tomb of Mallam Ibrahim Zaki — the visionary figure whose legacy inspired this fellowship. The moment served as a reminder of the values of leadership, knowledge, service, and community impact that he stood for.

The journey then continued with a community engagement session in Gamawa, where the fellows interacted with students through conversations focused on education, personal growth, leadership, and the importance of believing in one’s potential.

From the orphanage, the journey continued to Yana for a tree plantation exercise — a deliberate step toward promoting environmental responsibility and sustainable impact.

Beyond leadership and service, the fellows were reminded that building a better future also means protecting and nurturing the environment for generations to come. 🌱💚

Our 2nd Cohort activities officially kicked off with a visit to the Katagum Orphanage Home — a powerful reminder that true leadership goes beyond titles, influence, and recognition. It is built on empathy, service, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility to humanity.

Before the networking, learning, and engagements, we chose to begin with humanity first.

It’s that time of the year again — the countdown has begun, and the stage is set.

In just a moment, we will proudly graduate the second cohort of the Mallam Zaki Fellows — a new class of driven minds ready to lead, innovate, and make impact.

The journey now enters its final phase, with the physical session scheduled to take place from 13th–15th May in Azare — where ideas will be refined, connections strengthened, and excellence celebrated.
