🇳🇬 CHILD is GOLD Foundation at the 2026 Goodluck Jonathan Democracy Dialogue

Child Is Gold Foundation is participating in the 2026 Goodluck Jonathan Democracy Dialogue, currently taking place at the International Conference Centre, Bauchi, Nigeria, under the theme “Beyond Elections.”

The dialogue is bringing together political leaders, policymakers, civil society actors, traditional leaders, and other stakeholders to engage on critical issues affecting democracy in Africa.

A key conversation at the event is:

“Can Political Parties and the Judiciary Save African Democracy?”

The dialogue is being graced by distinguished personalities, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former Vice President Anyim Pius Anyim, former Vice President and former military administrator Arch. Mohammed Namadi Sambo, Presidential Aspirant Mr. Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Governor of Bayelsa State, distinguished Emirs, Senators, and other dignitaries.

🍼 WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK | Protecting, Promoting & Supporting Breastfeeding

As part of World Breastfeeding Week, CHILD is GOLD Foundation is joining the global conversation on the importance of breastfeeding and its role in improving the health and well-being of mothers and children.

One of our staff, took time to educate the community on the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, emphasizing that breast milk provides babies with essential nutrients and helps strengthen their developing immune systems.

Exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life can support healthy growth and development while helping protect babies from common childhood illnesses. Breastfeeding also provides important health benefits for mothers and strengthens the bond between mother and child.

Beyond individual families, breastfeeding requires a supportive environment—one where mothers have access to accurate information, quality health services, family support, and safe spaces to breastfeed.

At Child Is Gold Foundation, we believe that supporting mothers is an important investment in the health and future of every child.

CHILD is GOLD Foundation Joins Bauchi State Project Steering Committee for R-WVL Nigeria

Child Is Gold Foundation (CIGF) has been selected and officially inaugurated as a member of the Bauchi State Project Steering Committee (PSC) for the Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership (R-WVL) Nigeria Project.

The inauguration took place on 7 August 2026 at Chartwel Hotel, Bauchi, with the committee comprising 12 representatives from government ministries and agencies, civil society organizations, federal agencies, and the private sector.

CIGF’s selection recognizes its commitment to advancing gender equality, women’s rights, and the protection of women and girls in Bauchi State.

During the meeting, members adopted the Committee’s Terms of Reference and discussed their roles, responsibilities, accountability, coordination, and the sustainability of the R-WVL project in the state.

The PSC will provide strategic leadership, oversight and accountability, advisory and coordination support, as well as learning and advocacy for the project.

Child Is Gold Foundation is honored to contribute to this important platform and looks forward to working with all partners to strengthen collaboration and promote sustainable impact for women and girls across Bauchi State.

📚 Child Is Gold Foundation at the Bauchi State Gender-Responsive Education Financing Workshop

CHILD is GOLD Foundation was honored to participate in the Bauchi State Gender-Responsive Education Financing Framework Development Workshop, organized by the Young Leaders Network (YLN) with support from the Malala Fund.

The workshop brought together key stakeholders to develop practical and implementable strategies for promoting gender-responsive education financing in Bauchi State. Discussions focused on strengthening institutional systems, improving governance, promoting data-driven budgeting, and ensuring equitable access to quality education, particularly for girls.

As an organization committed to advancing children’s rights, gender equality, and inclusive education, Child Is Gold Foundation is proud to contribute to initiatives that promote equitable and sustainable education financing.

Child Is Gold Foundation Holds Partners’ Roundtable on Leadership and Good Governance

Yesterday, CHILD is GOLD Foundation held a roundtable discussion with partner organizations at the Young Leaders Network (YLN) in preparation for its August Monthly Project on Leadership and Good Governance.

The meeting recorded an impressive turnout, with representatives from Child Is Gold Foundation, Hope for the Living Joy Steve Foundation (Hope-L), Young Leaders Network (YLN), Leadtots and Human Development Services, and Rescue Initiative for Sustainable Development -RISD in attendance. The session was coordinated by CIGF’s August Project Team Lead, Saminu Shomgwom Ishaya.

Following participants’ introductions, the Project Team Lead presented the project concept note and provided further clarification on the proposed activities. Participants also shared valuable contributions and discussed key areas to support the successful implementation of the project.

The meeting highlighted the importance of partnership, collaboration, and collective action in promoting effective leadership and good governance.

Today, Child is Gold Foundation proudly joined fellow Civil Society Organizations under CS-SUNN in Bauchi State to commemorate World Breastfeeding Day 2026 through a public awareness rally.

Together, we sensitized communities on the importance of early initiation of breastfeeding, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, and continued breastfeeding for healthier mothers and children.
