We’re excited to announce that the Women Child Youth Health and Education Initiative (WCY), with support from the Malala Fund, is conducting a 2-day Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) aimed at strengthening our systems for greater impact., At Women Child, Youth Health and Education Initiative (WCY), we are taking a bold step inward to strengthen how we serve. With support from the Malala Fund, we are embarking on a 2-day Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) a process that challenges us to reflect, learn, and grow.
This is more than an assessment. It’s an honest conversation about who we are, how we work, and how we can do better for the women, children, and youth who depend on us.
From our people to our systems, Human Resources, Finance, Governance, Monitoring & Evaluation, every part of our organization is being reviewed to ensure we are stronger, more accountable, and more effective.
Because real impact starts from within.
We are committed to building an organization that doesn’t just deliver programs, but delivers lasting change transparently, sustainably, and with excellence.
This is how we grow. This is how we lead. This is how we serve better.

Thank You for Standing

Today, you didn’t just post…
You spoke up.
You challenged stigma.
You stood for girls whose voices are often ignored.
Because of you, the message is louder:
Marriage and motherhood must not end a girl’s education.
We deeply appreciate every post, every share, every voice raised.
But this is not the end.
🔥 The fire must keep burning.
Keep talking about it.
Keep sharing the message.
Keep standing for every married adolescent mother who deserves a second chance.
Together, we will not stop until every girl returns to school.

They said: “It’s over.”
But she said: “I’m not done.”

LET HER RETURN CAMPAIGN

Every girl deserves the opportunity to continue her education. Marriage or motherhood should never end a girl’s dreams.

Many married adolescent mothers face stigma and barriers that prevent them from returning to school. Through the Let Her Return Campaign, we are raising awareness and advocating for supportive policies and communities that allow young mothers to continue their education.

Strengthening Accountability for Better Nutrition Outcomes in Bauchi State

The Women Child Youth Health and Education Initiative (WCY) actively participated in the 4th Quarter 2025 Nutrition Budget Tracking Exercise organized by Civil Society Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN), Bauchi State Chapter.
The engagement focused on tracking and reviewing the performance of nutrition-related budgets across key Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). The insights gathered from this exercise will inform evidence-based advocacy aimed at ensuring timely release and effective utilization of nutrition funds, ultimately improving nutrition outcomes across Bauchi State.
As part of the exercise, the team visited four critical MDAs:
Bauchi State Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning and Multilateral Coordination
Bauchi State Ministry of Health
Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Board
Bauchi State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security
One key challenge identified during the process was the delay in the release of approved funds, which continues to hinder the effective implementation of nutrition interventions.
To address this, sustained advocacy and strategic engagement will be directed towards relevant authorities including the Ministry of Finance, the Office of the Accountant General, the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, and the Deputy Governor’s Office to ensure timely budget releases and stronger accountability mechanisms.
At WCY, we remain committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and collective action to improve nutrition and health outcomes for women, children, and vulnerable populations in Bauchi State.
