Recently, members of Journalists for Public Health and Development Initiative (J4PD) paid an on-the-spot assessment visit to the Abdulsamad Rabiu/Nigeria Customs Service Hospital, Bauchi, a healthcare facility established under the ASR Africa Initiative.
The visit was both enlightening and inspiring. We were impressed by the hospital's state-of-the-art medical equipment, modern diagnostic facilities, and highly skilled healthcare professionals dedicated to delivering quality services. The facility is located within the serene and well-maintained Nigeria Customs Service Zone D Headquarters in Bauchi.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the hospital is its commitment to providing affordable healthcare to the people. The hospital offers highly subsidized medical services, including dental care, with consultation fees starting from just ₦500, in line with the directive of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Dr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.
Speaking during the visit, the Chief Medical Director, DCC Sanusi Rimi Garba, encouraged residents of Bauchi State and neighboring communities to take advantage of the affordable and quality healthcare services available at the facility. He also led the J4PD team on a tour of the various departments, showcasing the hospital's modern equipment and service delivery capacity.
Access to quality healthcare should not be a luxury. We therefore encourage residents, especially women, children, and vulnerable groups, to utilize this opportunity and benefit from the subsidized healthcare services being offered at the Abdulsamad Rabiu/Nigeria Customs Service Hospital, Bauchi.
Quality healthcare is now closer, more affordable, and accessible.
