Every child deserves to grow up safe, loved, protected, and empowered to reach their full potential. Child protection is not the responsibility of parents or government alone it is everyone’s responsibility.

From the home to the school, from our communities to our institutions, we all have a role to play in creating environments where children are protected from abuse, exploitation, neglect, violence, and all forms of harm.

Our Call to Action Strengthen the enforcement of Child Protection Laws. Speak up and report all forms of child abuse and exploitation. Promote safe schools and child-friendly communities.

A protected child is a child with a future. And when we protect children today, we build a safer, stronger, and more inclusive society tomorrow.

Let us be the voice, shield, and support every child deserves.
Report abuse through the safeguarding channels provided.

Silence allows violence to continue. Awareness and action can help stop it.

Through the ASPIRE Project, Imigan Hope Empowerment Initiative is strengthening awareness of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law.
A legal framework that protects individuals from all forms of violence and promotes justice, safety, and dignity for survivors.

Ending violence is a shared responsibility. By knowing our rights, speaking out against abuse, supporting survivors without judgment, and advocating for the effective implementation of the VAPP Law, we can create safer homes, schools, workplaces, and communities where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Together, let us break the silence, protect the vulnerable, and build a future where violence has no place. Plan International Nigeria

On the second day of the workshop, participants engaged in an interactive session on the Five Gender Domains, exploring key areas such as Access to Resources, Control over Resources, Roles and Responsibilities, Decision-Making and Cultural Norms, which will help the participants to better understand the structural factors that influence gender relations and provide a foundation for creating more inclusive practices and policies.

Participants were also introduced to the Gender Justice Diamond and the Mother Diamond, practical tools designed to support reflection and promote gender balance within families and communities. Through these exercises, participants examined their roles, relationships, preferences, and areas requiring positive change. The discussions encouraged participants to identify practical steps towards building more equitable relationships, improving communication, and fostering mutual understanding within their households.

The session was further enriched by testimonies and success stories from participants, who shared how lessons and tools from the GALS workshop have contributed to positive changes in their lives. Participants highlighted improvements in areas such as proper planning, goal setting, decision-making, and the achievement of personal and household goals. These testimonies demonstrated the practical impact of the GALS approach and encouraged other participants to apply the knowledge and tools gained from the workshop to create positive and sustainable changes in their families and communities.

These were the highlights during the second day of the Participatory gender review workshop at Numan ward I of Numan Local Government Area and Old Demsa Ward of Demsa Local Government Area in Adamawa state

ImiGan Hope Empowerment Initiative (IHEI), through its Gender Action Learning System (GALS) experts, successfully facilitated a two-day Participatory Gender Review workshop in Numan Ward I, Numan Local Government Area, and Old Demsa Ward, Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State, in August 2026.

Implemented under the Supporting Sustainable Social Protection, Participation and Economic Resilience in Northeast Nigeria (SEPIN SUSI) Project, funded by the German Government and the European Union (EU) and implemented by GIZ, the workshop provided an opportunity for participants to assess and reflect on the progress they have made since the inception of the Change Catalyst Programme. It also provided a platform to document achievements and success stories, identify challenges encountered, draw lessons from their experiences, and collectively determine the way forward.

On the first day of the Participatory Gender Review, participants reflected on the previous phases of the Gender Action Learning System (GALS) training and shared how the sessions and tools introduced to them had helped remodel and shape their lives, enabling them to work towards their desired goals and aspirations.

During the session, participants were introduced to the Multi-Lane Highway, a tool to go through multiple vision journeys at once while still achieving all and the Achievement Road Journey, a practical tool designed to help them track the progress they have made, recognise achievements recorded along their journey, and reflect on goals that are yet to be accomplished.

Overall, the sessions provided participants with an opportunity to reflect on their journey, recognise their achievements, learn from their experiences, and develop practical strategies for addressing challenges as they continue working towards their personal, family, and community goals.

ANTICIPATING THE LAUNCH OF PROJECT SHIELD!

A new chapter in strengthening health, resilience, protection and peaceful coexistence in vulnerable communities across Plateau State is about to begin.

On Wednesday, 16th September 2026, ImiGan Hope Empowerment Initiative (IHEI), with funding from the Government of Ireland, will officially launch:

*PROJECT SHIELD*

Strengthening Health, Infrastructure, Economic Resilience and Local Dialogue for Displaced Populations and Host Communities in Plateau State.

Project SHIELD is an integrated six-month intervention designed to respond to some of the critical challenges facing displaced populations and host communities, particularly in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North, and Zarazon, Jos East.

The project will focus on three key areas:

Health: Life-saving health outreaches, consultations, diagnostics and essential medications for vulnerable populations.

Infrastructure & Protection: Sustainable, solar-powered water facilities to improve access to safe water while reducing protection risks faced by women and girls.

Peace, Governance & Livelihoods: Strengthening local dialogue, civic resilience, economic opportunities, youth engagement and community-based mechanisms for peaceful coexistence.

At IHEI, we believe that humanitarian support should go beyond immediate relief. Communities deserve solutions that restore dignity, strengthen resilience and create pathways toward a safer and more sustainable future.

We are grateful to the Government of Ireland for supporting this important intervention and to the communities, partners, government institutions and stakeholders who will contribute to making Project SHIELD a success.

Venue: Carter Colon Event Centre, Jos, Plateau State
Date: 16th September 2026
Time: 10:30 AM

The shield is ready. The journey begins.

ImiGan Hope Empowerment Initiative (IHEI) received members of Team IGNITE, a team of students from the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, as part of their youth-led community change project under the Youth Leadership Development Programme (YLDP) 2026, supported by LEAP Africa.

During the advocacy visit, Team IGNITE formally introduced their project and shared findings from the ECESS-2026, which examined key issues around electoral confidence, electronic electoral systems, election security, transparency, and democratic participation.

The engagement provided an opportunity for meaningful dialogue, with Team IGNITE seeking IHEI’s experience, guidance, support, and possible collaboration as they continue their stakeholder engagement and advocacy activities.

The team also extended an invitation to IHEI to participate in their planned consultative roundtable, creating an opportunity for further dialogue and collective action towards strengthening youth participation and democratic processes.

IHEI appreciates Team IGNITE for the visit and commends their commitment to youth-led advocacy, civic engagement, and democratic development. We look forward to continued engagement and collaboration in supporting young people to become active contributors to positive change in their communities.
