At FOI Counsel, we do more than practice law — we defend rights, challenge systems, and give voice to those who need it most. We are growing our Abuja office and are seeking a talented, driven Lawyer ready to do meaningful, impactful work in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.

Position: Lawyer
Location: Abuja (Flat 3, No. Gongola Street, Area 2, Garki)
Experience: 2 – 4 years post-call
Requirements: ✅ Minimum 2nd Class Upper Division at both University and Law School ✅ Male or Female ✅ Strong commitment to justice and public interest law

We strongly condemn the outrageous demand of ₦100,000,000 as processing fees for a Freedom of Information (FOI) request in Kano State.

Access to information is a fundamental right, not a privilege reserved for the wealthy. Imposing such an excessive fee defeats the very purpose of transparency and accountability under the FOI framework.

Public institutions must uphold openness—not create financial barriers that silence citizens.
