KSA stands for Katagum Students’ Association The association was formed in 1958 with few members (students) of Barewa College, Zaria and in line with the formation of Zazzau Students’ Association. Some of the members of the association who were students of Barewa at that time were Prof. Dauda Bagari, Baba Barnoma, Mohammed Yusuf (Baba Gadau), Dahiru Saleh, Ada Madara, Nayaya Katagum, Abdu Ibrahim

and Adamu Aliyu. At the formative stage of the association, its focus were not political but mainly on social activities like cultural and debating to improve the lots ofits members. KSA started at Barewa College, Zaria sometimes in 1956 when some of the students from Katagum division decided to come together and form an association inline with what was obtained in Zaria that is Zazzau Students Association. KSA thus came into existence in 1958 and started with few members, mostly from Barewa College, Zaria.

Alhamdulillah! Children’s Day Activities Kick Off in Katagum Zone 🎉

Today, we officially began the activities for this year’s Children’s Day celebration here in Katagum Zone.

Tomorrow promises to be a special and memorable day for every child, pupil, and student across our zone. From the march-past, inter-school sports, athletics, to cultural displays we’ve worked to make it colorful, engaging, and impactful.

On behalf of the Katagum Students’ Association KSA, I appreciate our advisers, executives, games masters, teachers, and all partners who made the start of these activities possible. Your dedication shows that the future of Katagum children truly matters.

To every child in Katagum: Tomorrow is your day. Come out, participate, play, and make beautiful memories. You are the pride of our zone!

The Katagum Students’ Association (KSA) wishes to inform all members and interested participants that Sunday, 31th May 2026, has been fixed as the final deadline for payment of the 2026 Children's Day Celebration Shirt.

All those who intend to obtain the official Children's Day shirt are kindly advised to complete their payments on or before the stipulated date, as no extension will be granted after the deadline.

ANNOUNCEMENT: 2026 CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS* 🎉

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

The Katagum Students’ Association is proud to invite the entire Katagum Zone to our 2026 Children’s Day Celebrations!

📅 Date: Wednesday, 3rd June 2026
📍 Venue: ASCOE Stadium, Azare
🎯 Theme: Celebrating Hope, Talent & Our Future

What to expect:
Morning Session 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Parade
Afternoon Session 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Fun competitions including Match Pass, Egg Race, Sack Race, Race Relay, and Blindfold games.

This event is for our children in Katagum, Shira, Zaki, Jama’are, Gamawa, Giade, and Itas LGAs. It’s a day to celebrate them, give them a safe space to play, and remind them that their community believes in their future.

We thank our partners, sponsors, teachers, and volunteers for making this possible. Your support brings real joy to these young faces.

Parents, teachers, and well-wishers are all welcome. Let’s come together to make this day memorable for our children.
