Happy Easter from FIWDE
This season reminds us that hope is alive, love is powerful, and new beginnings are always possible.

At FalconsCare Initiative for Women with Disabilities Empowerment (FIWDE), we celebrate the strength, resilience, and dignity of women with disabilities, while continuing to advocate for a more inclusive and equitable world.

Let this Easter inspire us to break barriers, uplift one another, and ensure that no woman is left behind.

Together, we rise in hope and inclusion.

Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day 2026 under the theme “Give to Gain.”

At FalconsCare Initiative for Women with Disabilities Empowerment (FIWDE), this theme reminds us that when we invest in women especially women with disabilities communities grow stronger, more inclusive, and more resilient.

Giving support, opportunities, accessibility, and equal rights to women with disabilities is not charity; it is a pathway to collective progress. When women are empowered, society gains leadership, innovation, and transformation.

Today and every day, we reaffirm our commitment to breaking barriers, amplifying voices, and ensuring that women with disabilities are seen, heard, and included.

Because when women rise, the world rises with them.

Today, March 1st, we join the world to mark International Wheelchair Day.

At FalconsCare Initiative for Women with Disabilities Empowerment (FIWDE), we see a wheelchair for what it truly is, freedom, participation, and opportunity.

However, many women and girls who use wheelchairs still face daily barriers:
schools without ramps, workplaces without access, health centres without dignity, and communities that underestimate their abilities.

The problem has never been the wheelchair.
The problem is exclusion.

We celebrate the strength, talents, and ambitions of women who use wheelchairs and continue to rise beyond structural barriers. They are entrepreneurs, students, leaders, caregivers, and change-makers.

Today, we call on communities, policymakers, and institutions to build inclusive spaces where mobility does not determine possibility.

When accessibility is provided, women thrive.
When women thrive, communities grow.

Happy International Wheelchair Day! You are Unstoppable!

Today, our Executive Director Ike Uzoamaka Stella had the opportunity to speak with students and parents from StairlessJourney India on the topic “Disability Inclusiveness – Reality, Responsibility, and Reform.”

Conversations like this remind us that our inclusion work does not just begin with policies rather it begins with everyday interactions, expectations, and willingness to redesign our spaces and behaviour.

Falconscare Initiative For Women With Disabilities Empowerment extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Network of Women with Disabilities (NWD) and the Global President, Lois Auta, for the opportunity and trust to participate in the Global Refugee Forum held on 15th o 17th December 2025 at Geneva Switzerland through the nomination of our Executive Director, Ike Uzoamaka Stella , as part of the official NWD delegation.

The delegation, nominated by the Global President, included Uzoamaka Stella Ike (Media and Communication Lead), Rose Daniel (Vice President II), Nseabasi George Ufford (Technical Advisor to the Global President and Human Resources Lead), and Temple Christian (Aide). Together, they represented the Network of Women with Disabilities in key engagements, strategic discussions, and advocacy spaces throughout the Forum.

The Global Refugee Forum convened diverse global stakeholders to advance practical solutions on refugee protection, disability inclusion, and shared responsibility. Participation in this space strengthened collaboration, learning, and collective advocacy for rights-based, gender-responsive, and inclusive humanitarian action that centers refugees and other marginalized groups, particularly women and girls with disabilities. Also, the launching of Global Network of Refugee with Disabilities.

We deeply appreciate the leadership and vision of Lois Auta and the Network of Women with Disabilities for amplifying inclusive representation and ensuring that the voices of women with disabilities are present in global decision-making spaces. FalconsCare remains committed to translating these global conversations into local action that advances dignity, inclusion, and equity for women and girls with disabilities.
