PART 1: The Water Corporation Arrears — Evidence Peter Obi Lied

Recall that Mr Peter Obi’s Chief of Staff first drew his attention to the unpaid salaries of the water corporation and ANSEPA staff on the 25th of April, 2006. All through his eight (8) years in office, he did not pay them.

Fourteen (14) Years after, the Soludo administration entered out of court settlement and is currently clearing the backlog of salaries owed these workers.

Obi knew then. Obi knows now. Obi knows we know. And Obi knows he lied!

Peter Obi vowed to quit the presidential race if it is proven he left Anambra State with a debt burden. This letter shows he made a similar promise to Anambra voters during his governorship campaign: he said he would resign as governor “if there is any case where workers are not paid as and when due.” He never meant it—he deceived voters. When he left office in 2014, he left his successors with heavier debt arrears, including Salaries of Water corporation workers.

— This is why Gov. Soludo dedicated the 35th Anniversary of Anambra State’s creation to raising awareness and taking action on environmental issues.

— This is why Anambra State held two emergency community environmental sanitation days in August.

— This is also why even people who dump refuse into sewers and trash waste indiscriminately should be committed to psychiatric care.

— This is why Local Government Mayors were instructed to conduct desilting of waterways and sewers.

Over 200 Anambra Water Corporation staff died under Peter Obi administration as a result of non-payment of entitlements, while the corporation’s allocated funds were given as loans to private contractors.

In this special prayer session, the staff of Anambra State Water Corporation fervently prayed to God to soften the heart of Anambra's "Pharaoh," Mr. Peter Obi, so he would release their many years of unpaid salaries and entitlements.

The question is: Why do the workers keep mentioning Obi in this matter?

The simple answer is this: While Obi and his team claimed that the Corporation was nearly dead before he arrived, why was Ngige paying their salaries, paying electricity bills, buying water treatment chemicals for the waterworks in Onitsha, and didn’t declare the workers redundant or the Corporation dead? Those are the questions Obi needs to answer.

Also, Ezeife, Mbadinuju, and Ngige never labeled the Corporation as dead — only Peter Obi did.

If that’s the case, how come Obi’s government allocated money to the board in the budget and then gave those funds to private contractors as loans?

Those workers suffered greatly. It’s said that many of those shown in the video have died without receiving their entitlements.

May their souls rest in peace. Amen.

In the video, the then-Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly -Rt. Hon. Anayo Nebe-now deceased—not only condemned the Peter Obi-led administration but also branded Peter Obi the governor who dragged Anambra workers “from grace to grass.”
