Nigeria is dealing with a kidnapping crisis.

Almost every week, there is another report.

A community attacked.

Security is no longer just a government issue. It affects investment, commerce, education, and everyday life.

That is why a recent statement from Governor Alex Otti deserves attention.

Speaking on the security situation in Abia, Otti said communities and forests that had become hideouts for kidnappers, bandits, and armed robbers have been reclaimed through coordinated efforts involving security agencies, traditional rulers, and local communities.

For many people, that may sound like a security update.
