Rotary District Governor Congratulates Anambra SSG, Chiamaka Nnake, on Historic Appointment
The District Governor of Rotary International, District 9142, Rtn. Chibuzor Asogwa, has congratulated the Secretary to the Anambra State Government (SSG), Hon. Chiamaka Nnake, on her emergence as the first female SSG in the history of Anambra State.
Rtn. Asogwa stated this when he led a delegation of the Rotary District 9142 on a courtesy visit to the SSG at the Light House, Awka.
The District Governor described the appointment of Hon. Nnake as a significant milestone for women and an indication of the confidence reposed in her capacity, experience and track record of service.
According to him, the Anambra State Government would undoubtedly benefit from the dedication, commitment, organisational skills and achievements that come with her presence in such a strategic position.
He commended the Governor of Anambra State for recognising and rewarding the hard work, dedication and achievements of Hon. Nnake as the former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning by entrusting her with a greater responsibility as SSG.
Rtn. Asogwa expressed confidence in the ability of the SSG to succeed in her new assignment, noting that she possesses the requisite experience and capacity to make a remarkable impact and achieve even more than her predecessors in the administration.
He assured her of Rotary International's goodwill and support, stressing the organisation's commitment to service to humanity and community development.
Responding, the SSG, Hon. Chiamaka Nnake, expressed her warm appreciation to the District Governor and members of Rotary District 9142 for the visit and congratulatory message.
Hon. Nnake disclosed that she has several good friends within the Rotary family and has attended numerous Rotary functions over the years at the invitation of members, describing herself as an associate of the Rotary Club.
She further acknowledged the presence and impact of Rotary in Anambra State, stating that the state government is aware of the organisation's activities and appreciates its numerous humanitarian and community development interventions.
The SSG expressed optimism about continued cordial relations between the Anambra State Government and Rotary International, noting that partnerships with organisations committed to improving the lives of the people remain important to sustainable development.
Among members of the Rotary delegation was the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the SSG, Dr. Nwabufor Nwankwo, a former Rotary Governor of the Rotary District Council, Awka.
The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to reaffirm their shared commitment to service, community development and the advancement of the wellbeing of Ndi Anambra.
