Peace is not merely an option; it is a fundamental and sacred necessity in human society. While conflict is an inevitable part of human history, individuals must actively strive to achieve and maintain peace. Recognizing this important principle, Rotary International has designated February as a month dedicated to peace and conflict resolution. During this time, seminars and workshops are organized to remind individuals that peace is essential, and to encourage them to eschew behaviors that may lead to societal discord.

In light of this commitment, the Rotary Club of Awka Urban, along with the Rotary Clubs of Awka Metropolis, Awka Smithtown, and Awka GRA, in partnership with Rotaract clubs in Anambra and the Interact Club of Dormition of Mary College Nanka, will conduct a peace initiative on February 23, 2026. This initiative will take place in the streets of Awka and will involve collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), and the Red Cross Society of Awka. The goal of this initiative is to encourage all members of the community to work towards peace and to promote harmony within our society.

Today, the Rotaract Club of Awka GRA CB joined other Rotaract Clubs in Anambra for the End of Year Party.

The event which saw many Rotaractors from the different clubs in Anambra Zone was held at Exotic Hotel and Suites GRA Onitsha.

Highlights of the event were games, swimming alongside mouth watering recipes and drinks.

Rotaractors were seen happy as they enjoyed the moment.

NEW MONTH MESSAGE

As we embark on a new month, I extend my warmest greetings to each one of you. May this month bring us closer to our goals and fill our hearts with joy, peace, and prosperity.
The theme of this Month is - DISEASE PREVENTION And TREATMENT.
As Rotaractors, may also be a solution to the life challenges rather than than the cause. Let's not relent in looking out for each member and our neighbours.

Now that the country is faced with a lot of security challenges, may we increase our vigilance, responsiveness and prayer. And be hopeful that God will intervene for us.

As this is the last month for the year, I urge each member to be an active participant in rest of our club's activities and events. Together, we can achieve greatness and make a meaningful impact in our community.
