A lot of people and school officials have been asking about this year’s Teen Summit.

After careful deliberation, the management and executives of TUDI Africa have developed a better plan and a more strategic approach to make the Teen Summit bigger and better than ever.

As a result, the Teen Summit has been postponed, and a new date will be officially announced in January.

Today is International Youth Day and history reminds us that leadership has never been the monopoly of the old.

General Yakubu Gowon became Head of State at 32.
Murtala Mohammed took the mantle at 37.
Olusegun Obasanjo first led Nigeria as Head of State at 39.
Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu shook the nation with the 1966 coup at just 29.

Across Africa and the world, young leaders continue to emerge:
• Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso became President at 34.
• Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal was elected President at 44.
• Mokgweetsi Masisi became President of Botswana at 55, after years of public service that began in his 30s.
• Emmanuel Macron became President of France at 39.
• Jacinda Ardern became Prime Minister of New Zealand at 37.
