As part of our ongoing commitment to empowering young people, the NOT TOO YOUNG TO LEAD INITIATIVE AFRICA – LIBERIA CHAPTER successfully held a one-day Student Leadership Engagement Program at Sr. Kathleen McGuire Memorial Catholic School under the theme “Cultivating Young Student Leaders.”

During the program, students took part in meaningful and practical sessions. One session on Protecting Your Future: Making Healthy Choices as a Young Leader was led by our Country Director, Marjueh Juliette Cooper, while Madam Shiphrah Saydee, guided a discussion on Good Governance and Anti-Corruption. These conversations helped students understand the importance of making the right choices, standing for integrity, and becoming responsible leaders.

What stood out the most was the energy and interest shown by the students. They asked questions, shared ideas, and showed that they are ready to take responsibility. It is clear that many young people are beginning to see leadership not as something for tomorrow, but something they can start practicing today.

We sincerely thank the administration of Sr. Kathleen McGuire Memorial Catholic School for welcoming us and supporting this initiative. We also appreciate the selected student leaders for taking this opportunity seriously and showing a strong willingness to learn and grow.

This program is a strong reminder that Liberia’s future is in safe hands. Our young people are becoming more aware, more intentional, and more ready to play their part in building a better nation.

In preparation for our journey as Liberian delegates, we departed Liberia on Friday, November 21, 2025, and arrived in Lagos, Nigeria that same day. After spending about two days in Lagos, we traveled to Asaba, Delta State for the Social Innovation and Leadership Bootcamp 2025.

‎The opening day celebrated African identity, with delegates dressed in colorful cultural attire that reflected unity in diversity. Speakers emphasized two powerful truths: Leadership begins with identity, understanding one’s roots strengthens one’s purpose. The future belongs to the prepared, delegates were challenged to refine their leadership mission and align it with Africa’s development needs. Day 1 strengthened pride, confidence, and purpose, inspiring participants to take ownership of Africa’s future.

‎Day 2 – Tuesday, November 25
Theme: Leadership & Innovation

‎The tone shifted to professional, forward-thinking discussions on leadership and creativity.
‎Key insights included: Innovation starts with empathy, solutions must be rooted in community realities. Leadership in the digital age, as highlighted by the Delta State Queen Peace, technology, AI, and data are essential tools for sustainable progress. Build systems, not event, lasting impact requires long-term structures. Delegates gained practical tools to design scalable ideas and think like innovators shaping the next decade.

‎Day 3 – Wednesday, November 26
Theme: Innovation, Impact & Pitch Day

‎This energetic day simulated a global pitch environment. Key lessons included: Impact financing and storytelling, how to pitch with clarity, data, and emotional intelligence. Sustainability is essential, ideas must remain relevant beyond funding cycles. Participants grew into stronger presenters, able to articulate their ideas with confidence and professionalism.

‎Reflection & Leadership Growth

‎In a calm and reflective atmosphere, speakers emphasized: Leadership as service, rooted in humility, emotional intelligence, and accountability.

‎The importance of reflection in refining one’s leadership journey. The power of community, collaboration must continue beyond the Bootcamp. Delegates left with renewed clarity, gratitude, and a deeper commitment to supporting one another’s growth.

‎Awards & Closing Moments

‎At the closing ceremony, three young leaders for Liberia, Rennet Z.B. Robbin,Nicolas Nake Nimely, Success Blessings Rue,and Joshua Bless Lincoln, received Outstanding Leadership Awards.
