Senegalese football icon Sadio Mané 🇸🇳 is investing in the future of his hometown, Bambaly, in Senegal’s Sédhiou region.

Through his company, SM10 Agro, he is developing the Bambaly Agro-Industrial Park across more than 500 hectares, focusing on fruit cultivation, processing and value addition.

The facility is projected to process up to 50,000 tonnes of fruit annually and create over 2,500 direct jobs, with local young people expected to benefit significantly.

Beyond football, Mané is helping drive agriculture, employment and economic growth in Casamance. 🌱🇸🇳👏

Today, I celebrate every humanitarian who continues to make a difference through compassion, service and selflessness.

To those who stand with vulnerable communities, respond in times of crisis, support people in need, defend human dignity and give hope to others—thank you.
Your work may not always receive recognition, but every life you touch is a reminder that your service is meaningful. Never underestimate the power of one helping hand, one kind word or one person willing to make a difference.

As Humanitarians, let us continue to serve with courage, humility and compassion. Let us keep building communities where dignity is protected, hope is restored and no one is left behind.

XENOPHOBIA: 🇿🇦More than 123 schools across South Africa are reportedly facing closure as declining student enrollment puts increasing financial pressure on schools.

The sharp drop in student numbers is also threatening teachers’ jobs, with dozens facing the loss of their livelihoods.

Rising unemployment in the second half of the year is being compounded by fewer foreign student registrations, leaving many small and under-enrolled schools struggling to remain financially viable.

The situation highlights how rapidly changing demographics and student migration can have wider consequences for jobs, education and the economy.

Africa is rich in natural resources but often exports raw materials and imports finished products. Botswana President Duma Boko says this must change.

Botswana and Côte d’Ivoire are partnering to promote local processing, technology transfer, value addition and stronger African ownership of the continent’s mineral wealth.

Instead of exporting minerals in their raw form and buying back finished products at higher prices, African countries can process more of their resources at home.

This can create jobs, develop industries, transfer skills and technology, strengthen local businesses and keep more wealth within African economies.

The partnership between Botswana and Côte d’Ivoire is a step toward building a continent where African resources contribute directly to African industrialisation and development.
Africa should not remain a supplier of raw materials. It should become a producer of finished goods.

Marcus Garvey understood that no people can confidently build their future while disconnected from their history. His message was a call for Africans and people of African descent to know their roots, embrace their identity and recognise their collective strength.

Through his Pan-Africanist movement and the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA), Garvey promoted Black unity, economic independence, self-reliance and dignity.

His vision continues to challenge us today: know where you come from, understand who you are, and use that knowledge to shape where you are going.
