Elon Musk is facing pressure from Kenya after the government warned that his platform, X, could face suspension if it fails to open a Nairobi office within 3 months.

Officials say the decision is part of efforts to combat fake news, cyberbullying, deepfakes, and harmful online content while ensuring social media companies remain accountable to African laws and communities.
Authorities also warned platforms like TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram against ignoring government regulations.

The development highlights Africa’s growing demand for digital sovereignty and stronger control over platforms shaping conversations across the continent.

United Africa in One Voice supports an Africa where technology empowers people, protects young generations, promotes truth, and respects African values and laws.
Could this be the beginning of a new era of African digital accountability?

President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda has expressed support for a proposed East African oil refinery project after discussions with Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote.
Museveni said refining crude oil within Africa would boost industrial growth, create jobs, and strengthen regional economies instead of exporting raw crude. He also highlighted the need for deeper energy cooperation across East Africa.
The proposed project is expected to involve countries such as Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, and may be modeled after the Dangote Refinery in Nigeria, one of the largest in the world.

In a strong display of African partnership and economic ambition, Aliko Dangote received a warm welcome in Ethiopia as work continues on his $4 billion fertilizer project. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed met him in Gode and toured the project site with him.

The investment has grown significantly from its original $2.5 billion estimate and will include major infrastructure such as a urea plant, gas pipeline, and power facility. The project reflects Africa’s growing capacity to build, invest, and thrive through unity and shared vision.

Egypt 🇪🇬 is making Africa proud through the production and export of double-decker buses to the United Kingdom.

The Egyptian company MCV, based near Cairo, manufactures these buses including hybrid and fully electric models now running on UK roads. In 2016, the company secured a major contract with Transport for London, marking the first time London’s famous red double-decker buses were produced outside Europe.

Africa is not just a continent of raw materials, it is a continent of innovation, production, and global solutions.

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu praised Aliko Dangote for taking the bold risk of building a refinery in Nigeria and said the government encouraged the project by granting free trade for the refinery’s license, supporting efforts to secure the necessary crude oil, and supplying crude to the refinery in naira instead of dollars despite Nigeria’s need for foreign exchange revenue from crude exports.
Tinubu said Nigeria could struggle to remain stable during global crises such as the tensions between the United States and Iran without functioning local refineries. He added that the Dangote Refinery is now exporting PMS and aviation fuel to other African countries.
The president made the remarks during the Africa CEO Forum in Rwanda.
