TBS Foundation Supports Face of Democracy with ₦2 Million

In celebration of Democracy Day on June 12, 2025, the TBS Foundation, led by Engr. Tony Bala Shamma, contributed ₦2 million to support the Face of Democracy Nasarawa State pageant—one of the leading beauty and leadership events in the state.

Organized by Comr. Samuel Yakubu Alkali of Like-Minds Entertainment and sponsored by Shamitito Nigeria Ltd and Benue Metropolitan Hotel & Suites, the event took place at Kini Country Home, Akwanga.

Samaiya Inusa emerged winner with a ₦150,000 prize, while the first and second runners-up received ₦100,000 and ₦50,000 respectively.

Tony Bala Shamma (TBS) joined family, friends, and well-wishers in celebrating the 70th birthday anniversary of distinguished elder statesman, Senator Solomon Ewuga.

TBS, widely regarded as a loyal and shining figure in the political landscape, expressed heartfelt admiration for Senator Ewuga’s remarkable life of service. TBS Foundation Donates ₦500,000 for Hafsatu’s Life-Saving Surgery

A spark of hope shone today for little Hafsatu Mohammed, a brave 5-year-old girl born with a rare condition that left her without a proper opening for bowel movement (Defecation ) Her family has struggled for years, relying on improvised means and prayers.

Today, the Engr. Tony Bala Shammah (TBS) Foundation stepped in with a ₦500,000 cash donation to support her urgent surgery in Abuja, bringing her one step closer to healing. The procedure, which costs ₦1.2 million, offers Hafsatu the chance to live like every other child.

“We couldn’t ignore her pain. This is more than aid – it’s a lifeline,” said Comrade Shaibu Abubakar, a member of the Foundation’s Health Committee.

With this gesture, the TBS Foundation renews its mission of giving hope to the forgotten and urges the public to join in completing Hafsatu’s journey to recovery.

TBS Foundation Supports Eye Surgery for Nasarawa Graduate

The Tony Bala Shammah (TBS) Foundation has donated ₦1,000,000 to Miss Adoration Joseph, a recent graduate of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, to assist with her urgent eye surgery.

Her case was selected for funding by the Foundation’s Health Insurance Subsidy Committee following a careful review. The total cost of the surgery is estimated at ₦1.9 million.

The Foundation expresses gratitude to all who have contributed to Miss Joseph’s medical support. Every gesture of kindness counts.

Engr Tony Bala Shammah Enrolls 350 Vulnerable Residents into Nasarawa Health Insurance Scheme with N4.2M Donation

In a remarkable gesture of compassion, Akwanga-born philanthropist, Engr. Tony Bala Shammah, has donated N4.2 million to enroll 350 vulnerable individuals into the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Scheme.

Speaking on the initiative, Engr. Shammah explained that the beneficiaries will be drawn from Akwanga, Wamba, and Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Areas to ease their financial burden and improve access to essential healthcare services.

He commended the Nasarawa State Government for launching the health insurance scheme, describing it as a transformative effort to reduce out-of-pocket healthcare expenses and promote equitable healthcare delivery.

Acknowledging the donation, the Marketing team led by the Director of Marketing and Business Development at the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA), Mrs. Hadiza Dogara, expressed deep appreciation on behalf of the Executive Secretary and the agency. She described Mr. Shammah’s support as a valuable contribution towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030.

Mrs. Dogara reiterated that the scheme was designed to eliminate financial barriers to healthcare for all residents of the state. She also emphasized the importance of sustainability in premium payments to ensure continuous access to healthcare for enrollees.

She further called on other well-meaning individuals, philanthropists, and non-governmental organizations to adopt the agency’s sponsorship model, which enables them to fund annual premiums for vulnerable persons in their communities.
