TOPIC: THE SIN'S BAIT

TEXT:
And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient. 2 Timothy 2:24

EXPOSITION:
We live in a society that has abandoned moral standards and Christian principles in favour of expediency. You should build an exemplary life. To do that, you must be able to develop priorities. That is, you should be able to put first things first. Blessed is the man who endures trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised those who love Him. James 1:12

Temptation finds people who live carelessly. The devil sets traps for us. He puts the things you love as bait on the trap. In other words, temptation is subtle and if you do not pay attention, you will take the bait and never notice the trap. I want you to read the Book of James 1:13-17. Temptation is always two-sided. Whenever satan is seeking to pull you down, you should remind yourself that God is also present to keep you steady and to build you up through the harrowing experience. Sometimes we allow disturbing thoughts on our minds and speak negative words. You must think before you speak because no one is to blame for your sin but you. Because of sin, death entered into the world.

Beloved, there are different kinds of bait. If your bait is hate, then you need to turn to the word of God that teaches about love. If your bait is worry, then you need to learn to be patient and trust in the Lord. If it is unforgiving spirit, then you need to learn to forgive those who trespass against you. As you grow in grace, the devil will fill your path with trials and temptations. But God will equip you more as you sail in the storms. You must be able to watch and pray so that the enemy will not overtake you (Luke 21:36). You must not be ignorant of the wiles and devices of the enemy. You must also be sober and vigilant. Finally, you should give no place to the devil, resist him and he will flee from you!

O Lord, shield me with Your fire, in the name of Jesus.
Father Lord, envelop me with Your power, in the name of Jesus.

TEXT: And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. Isaiah 10:27

EXPOSITION:
It is an Arabian saying that: “Poverty is a shirt of fire!” There is no one in their right mind that will wear a shirt of fire. Poverty is an enemy that God has defeated for you. This is clear in 2 Corinthians 8:9. This scripture shows that Jesus has broken the yoke of poverty. However, many Christians are still poor.

What is poverty? It is a condition where there is little or no money and other material possessions. It is a state of scarcity of means to live. This leads to the most important item, yoke. A yoke is a kind of harness upon an animal that makes it to pull a farming equipment. Spiritually, a yoke is anything that prevents progress. It can prevent someone from fulfilling their destiny. Poverty hinders vision; stops abilities; affects thinking; leads to untimely death; affects child-bearing and training; makes someone helpless and brings life frustration and depression. Poverty is not good. This is why Christ destroyed. Our salvation includes deliverance from poverty.

What do you do to break the yoke of poverty? Have the right mind that Christ has broken the yoke of poverty over your life. Pray the biblical prayers and make daily confessions that the blessings of God is over your life. Next, you must find something to do that God will bless. Remember, “He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread…” Pray to God to reveal your land (what you should do and where to do it) and then till (work on it).

Finally, be truthful, honest and holy in life. You can break the yoke of poverty by living a life of holiness and obedience, giving generously to God’s work, by paying your tithe and giving your first-fruits regularly, by praying targeted poverty-destroying prayers, breaking covenants and curses associated with poverty and claiming God’s promises on prosperity.
FAITH DECLARATION: THE BLESSINGS OF GOD IS UPON ME.
PRAYERS:
I will never live in poverty; I am rich, I am blessed and I am a blessing.
Anointing of abundant living and satisfaction, comes upon my life in Jesus name.
I command a wall between me and poverty and struggling in the name of Jesus.
