Access to credit is good — but only when you know how to use it well. Many rural women get credit and spend it on personal needs instead of growing their businesses. Mustirat used to see this happen often.
As a numbers-driven Itaja Women Fellow, Mustirat is now passionate about changing this story.
Through the fellowship, she has gained practical knowledge on distinguishing good credit from bad credit, maintaining proper business records, and aligning finances with actual business goals. She’s excited to return to her community and equip other rural business women with these vital tools so they can finally access credit confidently and use it to build sustainable growth.
By the end of her fellowship, Mustirat will have reached and trained 10 women in her community with this life-changing knowledge. This is how we’re building a stronger, financially literate rural economy — one woman at a time.
Fellows like Mustirat are the reason we’re on track to equip 1,500 rural businesses. If you’re a young woman (18–30) in Ondo Central or Ondo North with OND or equivalent in Business/Accounting, this could be your story too. Applications are open → bit.ly/ItajaFellows3
