CHANGE OF DATE FOR ONDO YOUTH SUMMIT 1.0

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ondo State Chapter, wishes to formally inform the general public, youth stakeholders, partner organizations, government agencies, and all affiliated member organizations that the Ondo Youth Summit 1.0, earlier scheduled to hold on Thursday, 23rd July 2026, has been postponed until further notice.

This decision has become necessary due to overwhelming requests from stakeholders and to ensure a more inclusive, impactful, and well-coordinated summit for all participants.

The new date for the summit will be officially announced within the next few days.

The venue and time remain unchanged:

Venue: The Dome Event Centre, Igbatoro Road, Akure, Ondo State
Time: 10:00 a.m.

The theme of the summit also remains unchanged:

“From Potential to Purpose: Bridging the Youth Leadership Gap.”

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this postponement may cause and deeply appreciate your understanding, patience, and continued support. We encourage all youth leaders, students, professionals, entrepreneurs, community development advocates, and stakeholders across Ondo State to stay tuned for the official announcement of the new date.

Together, let us build a generation of visionary, responsible, and purpose-driven young leaders committed to the sustainable development of Ondo State and Nigeria at large.

NYCN ONDO STATE CHAPTER STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP WITH NSCDC TO ADVANCE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY SECURITY

Akure, Ondo State | Tuesday, 7th July, 2026

As part of its commitment to building strategic partnerships for youth empowerment and a safer society, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ondo State Chapter, under the leadership of Comrade Omomowo Babatunde, on Tuesday, 7th July, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command Headquarters in Akure.

The delegation was warmly received by the State Commandant, Commandant Oluyemi Ibiloye, JP, in a meeting centered on strengthening collaboration between the youth body and the Corps in promoting peace, security, and sustainable development across Ondo State.

Speaking during the visit, Comrade Omomowo Babatunde formally introduced the newly inaugurated State Executive Council of the NYCN and reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to working closely with security agencies in advancing initiatives that promote youth inclusion, civic responsibility, and community development.

He noted that the NYCN remains dedicated to creating opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the state through constructive engagement, advocacy, and active participation in nation-building.

The State Chairman also commended the NSCDC for its unwavering efforts in safeguarding lives and critical national assets, describing the Corps as a dependable partner in maintaining peace and public safety. He emphasized that stronger collaboration between youth organizations and security institutions would help foster trust, discourage youth involvement in crime, and encourage greater community participation in maintaining law and order.

In his remarks, Commandant Oluyemi Ibiloye welcomed the NYCN leadership and expressed appreciation for the visit, while reiterating the importance of youth involvement in promoting a secure and peaceful society. He encouraged young people to remain law-abiding, embrace responsible leadership, and work alongside security agencies by supporting community-based intelligence and crime prevention initiatives.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for both organisations to exchange ideas on practical areas of collaboration aimed at empowering young people, promoting civic engagement, and strengthening community security across Ondo State.

The visit concluded with a shared commitment to sustaining a productive partnership that will continue to support youth development, enhance public safety, and contribute to the overall progress of Ondo State.
