Dear elders, and happy new month! πŸŒΏπŸ™

Today is Workers' Day and at LEAD Initiative, we are celebrating YOU.

Because getting older does not mean purpose has ended. Your years of work, sacrifice, and service have shaped families, built communities, and made society what it is. That story is not over. It is still being written.

You can still earn with dignity, through things you already know. Maybe:
🌿 Food and herbs processing
πŸ“Ώ Bead making and crochet
🧼 Soap making
🌱 Small gardening
πŸ“– Storytelling and book writing
🀝 Mentoring younger people
πŸŽ“ A professional skill
🎢 Music
Or just using social media to promote what you already know how to do.

This month, we want to hear from you.

What is one skill you already have? Or one small thing you would like to learn?

Share it with us in the comments or send us a message. LEAD Initiative is here to support you with learning, packaging, and promotion at no cost to you.

You are older, yet full of purpose. Your hands, your wisdom, and your experience can still produce value.

There is still wisdom to share, work to do, and legacy to build. 🌳

We shared these 6 safety steps inside the LEAD Intergenerational Lab to protect our members, especially our older people.

Because we believe that staying safe online is part of living with dignity at every age.

These steps take less than 10 minutes and could protect you, your parents, and everyone you love on WhatsApp.

Swipe through, save this, and share it with at least one person today.

Want to be part of the community where conversations happen?
The LEAD Intergenerational Lab is free, closed, but open to all.

🌿 Something new is open.

A space where an 80-year-old and a 20-year-old are both teachers.
Where the elder who has survived decades finally has a room that says: "Your story matters here."
Where the young person navigating life finally meets someone who has already walked that road.
Where the caregivers who are exhausted and invisible finally find a community that sees and guides them.

That is the LEAD Intergenerational Lab.
A free, intentional community built for real conversation and learning across every life season.
Not a lecture room. Not just another regular group.

A living lab where every age teaches and every age learns.
Older persons carry wisdom the world cannot afford to lose.
Younger generations bring energy, curiosity, and new ways of seeing.
Together they make something neither can build alone.

If you are carrying wisdom you wish to share, this space is asking.
If you are young with a world to show and no elder who will listen, this space is listening
If your age has ever made you feel invisible, this space sees you.
If you have ever wished for a mentor who has truly lived, this space has them.
If you believe learning never stops, this space was built for you.

Easter season is one of the seasons that carries meaning, just like our lives.
It does not end.

It continues in how we live, how we grow, and how we honour each season of life.

It is a reminder that life is not finished until purpose is fulfilled.

May the purpose of this season, His death and resurrection, be fulfilled in our lives, Amen.

Every season carries meaning.

Happy Easter from all of us.

It’s April 1.

A new month.
A new quarter for many.
A fresh focus on work, targets, and results.

But let me ask you a different kind of question today.

Every human who desires to live long will pass through at least three seasons of life.

If you suddenly had 40 free hours every week, what would you do with them?

No meetings.
No deadlines.
No emails.
Just time.

One day, this will not be a question.
It will be your reality.

And many people are not prepared for it, not because they lack money, but because they have not thought about what their life will look like beyond work and titles.

This is your gentle reminder:
Your β€œpens up” clock is already ticking.
It started the day your working life began.
And your next season is quietly forming.

If you have never reflected on this before, this is a good place to start.

Sunday morning. After service.

Elder Johnson stands at the edge of the church hall.

Around him, laughter, conversations, groups chatting.

He's been a member for 32 years.
Dressed in one of his best clothings as usual.
Bible in hand.

But lately, something's different.

Conversations flow AROUND him, not WITH him.
People greet him politely, then move on.
No one asks about his week, his thoughts, his life.

The pastor shook his hand this morning: "Good to see
you, Elder!" Then immediately turned to the younger
deacon.

At the planning meeting last month, they discussed the
church's future. His 30+ years of experience, his wisdom
from building this very churchβ€”never consulted.

He's present. But invisible.

During testimony time, he raised his hand.
The worship leader smiled but called on someone else.

Elder Johnson isn't asking to lead everything.
He's asking to still matter.

To be consulted. Included. Heard.

━━━━━━━━━━━

This is the slow erosion of dignity.

Not dramatic. Gradual.
Not intentional. But painful.

Dignity fades when:
- Your voice is no longer sought
- Your presence is noted but not valued
- You're greeted but not included
- You're there but not SEEN

━━━━━━━━━━━

"Every Season Has Meaning" launches:

For every Elder Johnson standing at the edge.

For communities learning to SEE their eldersβ€”
not just greet them.

80+ pages exploring:
βœ“ Why dignity matters at every age
βœ“ How invisibility affects older adults
βœ“ Building intergenerational community
βœ“ Honoring experience and wisdom

To every church, community, and family:

Your elders are not just to be greeted.
They are to be seen, heard, and valued.

Their presence is not enough.

Their voice matters too. πŸ‚

Meal for Strength and Digestion – Green Plantain 🍽️

Green plantains are humble, simple, and powerful. They give lasting energy, support healthy digestion, and help keep blood sugar steady.

βœ… For elders: 1–2 medium plantains per meal, 2–3 times a week
βœ… For younger adults: 1 medium plantain per meal, as part of balanced meals

πŸ’‘ Tip: Boil, steam, or lightly grill. Pair with beans, vegetables, or a portion of fish for a complete, gentle meal.

Just like LEAD, which nurtures legacy, education, and dignity, simple foods like this nourish the body and honour life. Let’s eat wisely and live well.

This Valentine's Day, lets talk about a kind of love we don't celebrate enough... πŸ’•

The love between generations.

It's the young person who stops scrolling to really SEE an older adult. It's the caregiver whose gentle touch says "you matter." It's the grandchild who asks "tell me that story again" and truly listens.

This video reminds us that iur older adults deserve ALL the love today and every day. They raised us. They built our communities. They hold the stories that make us who we are.

Real love crosses age barriers. It honours wisdom. It preserves legacy. It builds something beautiful together.

Watch this short video. Do you have someone above 50 who shaped your life? Reach out to them. Let's celebrate them today! ❀️

Happy Valentine's Day from LEAD - Legacy, Education, Ageing with Dignity 🌹

11/02/2026

The young are anxious about the future.
Older adultd are waiting: for care, for respect, for presence.

And in the middle are caregivers.
Sons, daughters, family members.
Yes they are strong, silent, yet stretched.

This story is for all of us,
because ageing, care, and dignity belong to every generation.

Thank you to our donors, partners, and supporters.

We are deeply grateful to you for supporting the Maiden Health Awareness and Community Outreach of the LEAD Initiative, a project of the Lifeline to Sustainable Social Legacy Foundation.

Your generosity made it possible for older persons to receive health education, basic checks, medications, food, and, most importantly, respectful learning. One of the participants reminded us that the last time he heard such detailed health education was in primary school, and hearing it again has given him renewed understanding and confidence.

This is the impact of your support. You did not only fund an event, you restored learning, dignity, and hope.

Thank you for believing in this vision, standing with us, and helping us serve our elders with care and purpose. All 102 participants (older persons and cargivers) who benefited from this event send their appreciation and blessings. May the seeds you have sown return to you in many folds.
