🔥 SOUTH AFRICA AGAIN: A CITY OF A BLACK MAN… HEADING FOR A BLACK TOMORROW? 🔥
✍🏽 By Niyi Babade

🌍 A Painful Reflection on History, Identity & Repetition
South Africa… a land of deep scars, hard-fought victories, and now—disturbing echoes of its past.

⚔️ 📜 Where It All Began: The Great Trek (1835–1846)
Over 12,000 Boer settlers migrated from the British-controlled Cape Colony
Established Boer Republics deep in Southern Africa.

Triggered decades of conflict:
British ⚔️ Boers
Boers ⚔️ African Kingdoms
Zulu resistance ⚔️ Colonial expansion.

🧨 This historical collision ultimately laid the foundation for APARTHEID — a system that dehumanized, divided, and devastated.

🧠 ✊🏾 The Awakening: Steve Biko’s Revolutionary Voice
A fearless anti-apartheid activist
Deeply troubled by how black South Africans were used against their own people.

💔 Witnessed betrayal, oppression, and violence fueled by manipulation
🔥 His timeless declaration:
👉🏾 “Black man, you are on your own.”
💡 This wasn’t defeat—it was awakening.
It sparked:
Self-belief
Unity among blacks
A mental revolution that contributed to the collapse of apartheid.

🕊️ 🌅 Freedom… But At What Cost?
After apartheid ended, hope filled the air.
But soon… a new monster emerged:
🚨 XENOPHOBIA — Blacks turning against blacks
Innocent lives lost
Businesses destroyed
Fear replacing freedom.

🔥 🚨 CURRENT CRISIS: A NATION IN TURMOIL
Recent reports reveal:
⚠️ Violent protests spreading rapidly
⚠️ Targeted attacks on black-owned shops
⚠️ House-to-house killings
⚠️ Rising kidnappings.

💔 A chilling account:
“3 Somali nationals were killed at a McDonald’s… the attackers called it a ‘turf war.’”
— Sam Nkosini, Photojournalist

❗ ⚠️ WHAT ARE WE BECOMING?
A people once united against oppression…
Now divided by fear, anger, and ignorance of history.
🌍 📢 A CALL TO ACTION (GLOBAL & REGIONAL LEADERS)
This is no longer just South Africa’s problem.
🚨 Urgent intervention is needed:
🏛️ Governments
🤝 Regional bodies
🌐 International organizations
🕊️ Peace advocates
👉🏾 To STOP the bloodshed
👉🏾 To restore sanity and unity
👉🏾 To remind a nation of its painful history.

💡 FINAL THOUGHT
A people who forget their history… risk reliving it.
South Africa must not exchange apartheid oppression
for self-inflicted destruction.

🔥 BLACK MAN… ARE YOU STILL ON YOUR OWN — OR HAVE YOU TURNED AGAINST YOURSELF? 🔥
