MOM Foundation Expands Educational Support in Abavo.

Abavo embraced a renewed sense of hope as the Margret Ogbeide Memorial (MOM) Foundation awarded scholarships to another group of JSS 2 and 3 students from various secondary schools in the Abavo Kingdom. The event, well-attended by education advocates both within and beyond Abavo, was graced by the Abavo Palace Chiefs and Clan Union executives.
In his address, the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Engr. Jonah Ogbeide encouraged the students to see the scholarship as an opportunity to excel academically and underscored the importance of giving back to society. He highlighted the celebration of student achievements and the foundation’s dedication to supporting education in rural communities.
Reflecting on the foundation's journey since its establishment in 2023, Ogbeide explained that the MOM Foundation has focused on providing scholarships to students from underprivileged backgrounds. "In 2023, six JSS 2 students were awarded scholarships," he noted. "This year, we expanded support, awarding scholarships to 12 students in JSS 2 and JSS 3."
Engr. Ogbeide further announced future plans to offer free WAEC/NECO examinations enrollment to reduce financial barriers to education. Additional initiatives include providing food supplies to vulnerable families and enhancing community safety through the installation of solar-powered streetlights.
The scholarship recipients were congratulated and reminded of their responsibility to make the most of this opportunity, grow academically, and contribute to their community.
He reiterated the foundation’s commitment to expanding its support for youth through scholarships, skills development, and other community-building initiatives. He also invited partnerships from organizations and individuals, thanking the Abavo community, partners, and guests for their support in working toward a brighter future for the youth.
