Every child deserves to be protected from every form of violence. No child should have to experience bullying, assault, abuse, or violence of any kind.
For five days, our Program Manager Esther Ademoroti participated in the Auxiliary Social Worker Training, designed to equip and empower more people with the knowledge and skills needed to complement the work of professional social workers, particularly in preventing and responding to violence against children.
During the training, participants explored social work in Nigeria and the need for Auxiliary Social Workers in Ekiti State, the different fields of social work, child development and growth, and the roles of an Auxiliary Social Worker in providing preventive and developmental assistance to individuals, families, groups, and communities.
The training further explored the major domains of child development, with particular emphasis on identifying, preventing, and responding to violence against children, as well as understanding the child protection system and the different mechanisms available for protecting children.
As an organization committed to the well-being and protection of every child, we are reminded of the importance of strengthening prevention and response mechanisms that help create safer environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
We are grateful to our seasoned facilitators, Dr. Ibikunle, Dr. Adeoye, and Dr. Adebayo, for the insightful and impactful sessions throughout the five days.
