The Civil Society for HIV and AIDS in Nigeria (CiSHAN) was established in August 2000 and registered with the Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC) in May 2005 as Network / Umbrella Body working on the prevention and mitigation of the impact of HIV&AIDS. Ekiti State Chapter (EKCiSHAN) started in 2003 as a product of a process supported by DFID to organize the few Non-Governmental Organizations into a

more formidable and effective Non-State Actors in order to interface with public entities for advocacy, good governance, community mobilization, Monitoring and Evaluation, Supportive Supervision, policy development and Capacity Building. CiSHAN currently has its State Office and headquarters in Ado-Ekiti and Abuja, Nigeria respectively.
