In celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child, the Child Protection Network (CPN), Ekiti State Chapter, alongside its members Bibi Grace Foundation was represented by its program manager, visited a school to engage both girls and boys in meaningful conversations about the girl child, her rights, safety, health, and future.
During the engagement, the students learned about menstrual hygiene and the importance of proper self-care during menstruation. They also discussed sexual abuse prevention, personal safety, and the importance of speaking up and seeking help whenever they feel unsafe.
Beyond these conversations, the students were encouraged to believe in themselves, pursue their dreams, and understand that every girl deserves equal opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed without discrimination.
We also recognise that protecting and empowering the girl child is a shared responsibility. Boys have a role to play in promoting respect, challenging discrimination, and helping to create a safe and supportive environment for every girl.
Every girl deserves to be heard, protected, respected, and given the opportunity to fulfil her dreams. Creating a world where girls can thrive begins with educating, empowering, and engaging everyone, including boys.
Every child matters. Every girl child matters. No girl should be limited, silenced, or denied opportunities because she is a girl.
Together, let us build a society where every girl is safe, valued, empowered, and free to reach her full potential. 💜
