A MESSAGE OF HOPE, UNITY AND RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP TO THE YOUTH OF NIGERIA

Dear Nigerian Youth,

As the National Speaker of the National Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN), I extend my warmest greetings and encouragement to every young Nigerian who continues to believe in the greatness and possibilities of our nation.

Nigeria's future is not merely something we wait for it is something we must collectively build. The strength of our nation lies in the creativity, courage, intelligence, resilience and determination of its young people.

I therefore call upon Nigerian youth to rise above the challenges of today and embrace the responsibility of shaping the Nigeria we desire. Let us become young people who do not only demand change, but who are also prepared to lead change, implement solutions and serve with integrity.

Our generation must champion inclusive governance, responsible leadership, effective policies and the practical implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is not enough to formulate beautiful policies; we must ensure that those policies translate into opportunities, quality education, decent employment, innovation, healthcare, environmental sustainability, peace and dignity for every citizen.

Let us build a society where no young person is excluded because of their background, gender, disability, location or economic circumstances. Every young Nigerian deserves a seat at the table where decisions affecting their future are made.

The National Youth Assembly of Nigeria remains committed to promoting meaningful youth participation, democratic values, accountability and constructive engagement with government and institutions at all levels.

To every young Nigerian: believe in yourself. Develop your talents. Acquire knowledge. Stand for justice. Respect diversity. Serve your community. Hold leaders accountable. And, most importantly, become the kind of leader you wish to see in Nigeria.

The Nigeria of our dreams will not be built by government alone. It will be built by citizens who care, young people who participate, leaders who listen and institutions that deliver.

Our time is now. Our voice matters. Our actions matter. Our future depends on what we do today.

Let us move forward together with courage, unity and purpose, knowing that a better Nigeria is possible and that we have a responsibility to make it happen.

Nigeria belongs to all of us. Let us build it together.

RISE ABOVE FEAR, EMBRACE THE FUTURE

Today, as we celebrate International Youth Day, I encourage every young person to believe in themselves and the possibilities that lie ahead.

Life may present challenges, uncertainty, and moments that make us afraid. But fear must never be allowed to stand between us and our dreams. We must find the courage to step forward, the boldness to pursue our goals, and the resilience to keep moving when the journey becomes difficult.

As young people, we are not merely waiting for the future we are preparing to shape it. Let us use our voices, talents, ideas, and energy to build a better Nigeria.

May we face tomorrow with hope in our hearts, courage in our actions, and confidence in our ability to make a difference.

Today we celebrate not just your birthday, but the grace, wisdom, and unwavering commitment you bring to the service of Nigerian youth.

Your loyalty, dedication, and steadfast support to me as Speaker and to the vision of NYAN have been a pillar of strength for our leadership. You lead with humility, serve with excellence, and inspire with action.

The State House statement on the alleged activities of Mr. Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew is less a story about one individual than it is an indictment of a failed system.

If the government’s account is accurate, then Nigerians must ask how an individual allegedly operated a fictitious presidential agency, occupied office space, engaged government institutions, met with diplomats, requested official diplomatic support, opened multiple bank accounts, and functioned openly for months before security agencies intervened. These are not merely the actions of one person they expose serious institutional failures.

A government that cannot promptly detect and stop such an alleged operation must urgently review its internal coordination, verification processes, and oversight mechanisms. Strong institutions are measured not only by how they respond after a scandal breaks, but by their ability to prevent such failures in the first place.

While the matter remains before the court, due process must be respected, and the accused should be allowed a fair trial. At the same time, government officials should not use this case solely to shift attention to one individual without addressing the systemic lapses that allegedly allowed the situation to develop.

Nigerians deserve institutions that are transparent, accountable, and effective. This case should not end with the prosecution of individuals alone; it should also lead to reforms that strengthen public institutions and restore confidence in government.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE ON THE PASSING OF LATE COMR. JONATHAN AKPAHO SAMUEL

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Late Comr. Jonathan Akpaho Samuel, who was the Senior Special Adviser on Contacts & Mobilization, to the National Youth Assembly of Nigeria.

Comr. Jonathan was more than an aide. He was a loyal, hardworking, and dedicated young leader who served NYAN with passion and integrity. In the area of contacts and mobilization, he stood as a bridge — connecting youths across states, building structures, and ensuring our voice was heard. His commitment, energy, and selfless service will be deeply missed by all of us in the National Assembly of Nigerian Youths.

To his family, friends, colleagues, and everyone whose lives he touched: please accept my heartfelt condolences. We mourn with you, and we pray that the Almighty God comforts you in this difficult time and grants his soul eternal rest.

As NYAN, we will honor his memory by continuing the work he believed in: uniting Nigerian youths and giving them a platform to lead.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
