WORLD POLIO DAY – 24TH OCTOBER 2025
_End Polio Now - Because Every Child Deserves a Life Without Limit_

Today, 24th October 2025, the Rotary Club of Lugbe FHA Estate, Abuja, proudly joins the entire Rotary family across district 9127 and around the world to commemorate World Polio Day— a day dedicated to raising awareness and reaffirming our shared commitment to a world free of polio.

In a special message, the Club President, Engr. Rtn. Tunmise Adepoju, emphasized that Rotary’s long-standing fight against polio is a testament to humanity’s ability to unite for a common purpose. Through the relentless efforts of Rotarians, health workers, and global partners, polio cases have been reduced by over 99% worldwide. Yet, the mission continues until the last child is immunized and no community remains at risk.

The word "End Polio Now — Because Every Child Deserves a Life Without Limit,” captures the essence of Rotary’s vision — a world where every child can grow, dream, and thrive without the limitations caused by preventable diseases. Every vaccination is a step toward that promise.

The Rotary Club of Lugbe FHA Estate, in alignment with District 9127’s unified observance of World Polio Day, participated in activities that promote awareness, advocacy, and community action. Together, Rotarians across the district continue to amplify the call for support, funding, and collaboration to ensure the final victory over polio.

As we commemorate this global day, let us remember that ending polio is not just a Rotary goal but it is a humanitarian obligation. Together, through service and compassion, we can achieve a world where no child suffers from polio again.

ROTARY CLUB OF LUGBE FHA FLAGS OFF YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM TO MARK COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MONTH

In commemoration of October – Rotary’s Community Economic Development Month, the Rotary Club of Lugbe FHA, under the leadership of its dynamic President, Rtn. Engr. Tunmise Adepoju, has officially flagged off the Empowerment of over 50 Youths across Lugbe and its environs.

The beneficiaries, including members of the Lugbe Interact Club and Community Corps, will receive hands-on training in diverse skill acquisition programs such as:

* Fashion and tailoring
* Hairdressing and beauty craft
* Catering and confectionery
* Digital marketing and ICT
* Shoe and bag making
* Photography and videography
* Graphic design and printing
* Agro-business and soap production

This initiative aims to promote self-reliance, financial independence, and sustainable livelihood, aligning with Rotary’s mission of creating lasting change in communities.

Rotary remains committed to a polio-free world.
As part of activities to mark World Polio Day, the Rotary Club of Abuja Lugbe FHA-Estate joined hands with millions of Rotarians worldwide to spread awareness on the urgent need to eradicate polio.

From interactive fellowship talks, where members engaged in insightful discussions on Rotary’s historic role in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative and the progress made so far in ensuring that no child suffers the devastating effects of this preventable disease.

This was followed by an awareness walk within our community. Together, Rotarians, Rotaractors, and community members had a walk with clear messages on vaccination, prevention, and the collective responsibility we all share in ending polio. The walk served not only as a public campaign but also as a reminder that persistent advocacy keeps the goal of a polio-free world alive.

Rotary has been at the forefront of the fight against polio for decades, and with continuous effort, collaboration, and unwavering commitment, we are closer than ever to achieving complete eradication. But the fight is not over. Until the last child is immunized, none of us is truly safe.

Together, we stand firm in the campaign—because a polio-free world is not just a dream, it is within reach.
