In 2022, Africa recorded over 1.15 million new cancer cases and 754,000 deaths, while Nigeria accounted for 127,763 new cases and 79,542 deaths. Nigeria carries a mortality-to-incidence ratio of approximately 62.3%, meaning about 6 out of every 10 diagnosed individuals die from the disease.
The statistics above show that cancer is a plague in our society and to effectively combat it there is a need for proper and timely information, so GIFT and IT STARTED WITH A LUMP will be visiting Secondary school students in Mararaba to enlighten them on CANCER(MAJOR FOCUS ON BREAST CANCER IN MALE).
see flyer for more informations.
