Today, I inspected the ongoing Solar Mini-Grid installation project at the Commission’s headquarters, a key step in our commitment to sustainable energy development and renewable energy adoption.

Upon completion, the off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) system will fully power the Commission’s headquarters independently off the national grid, making the facility self-sustaining and supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President for clean and reliable energy.

This project reflects our commitment to energy security, environmental sustainability, and operational efficiency while serving as a model for renewable energy deployment across public institutions in Nigeria. The ECN remains focused on driving innovative energy solutions that will accelerate Nigeria’s transition to a cleaner, greener, and more resilient energy future.

Every situation in life is a test from Almighty Allah.
In prosperity, He tests our gratitude.
In poverty, He tests our contentment.
In hardship, He tests our perseverance.
In delays, He tests our patience.
And in every trial, He tests our faith and obedience.

May Allah grant us grateful hearts in ease, patience in hardship, steadfast faith in trials, and the strength to pass every test He places before us. Ameen🤲🏽

Returning to the Aliko Dangote University Of Science and Technology - Wudil, for an official assignment today carries a meaning I cannot ignore. I was pleased to join the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, SAN, to flag off a 2MW solar mini-grid project and commission 200 solar-powered streetlights.

These projects, delivered through the ECN, are aimed at strengthening energy access, improving safety, and supporting innovation within the university environment. The mini-grid will enhance learning and research, while the solar streetlights will improve security and extend productive hours on campus.

As an alumnus of the Faculty of Engineering, it is a profound honour to return in this capacity and contribute to the same institution that shaped my foundation.

I am also deeply honoured by the recognition bestowed on me by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai, with an Outstanding Award, as well as the renaming of the Engineering Faculty Complex after me. I receive these honours with a strong sense of responsibility and a renewed commitment to do more.

My appreciation goes to the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Abdulkadir; the Vice-Chancellor; the DG of SHESTCO, Dr. Magaji Da’u Aliyu; and all partners who made this possible. Finally, I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, President , for this laudable initiative that continues to drive sustainable energy development across the nation.

After the Easter break, as we return to our daily responsibilities, it is important to reflect on the value of energy as a driver of productivity, growth, and sustainability. We must remain conscious of how we use energy in our homes, workplaces, and communities by adopting efficient practices and minimizing waste.

Conserving energy is essential not only for reducing costs but also for protecting our environment and ensuring a sustainable future. Let us move forward with a renewed commitment to responsible energy use and collective action toward a more efficient society.
