OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Osogbo, June 12, 2026
My attention has been drawn to the activities of certain individuals who continue to lay claim to the chairmanship position of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Osun State despite the fact that I have officially received my certificate of office as the recognized Chairman of the union through the national leadership under Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo).
I, Comrade Wakeel Nurudeen Alowonle (Ola Mummy), therefore wish to state unequivocally that I remain the duly recognized Chairman of NURTW in Osun State. Any contrary claim should be disregarded by members of the union, stakeholders, and the general public.
I call on all security agencies in Osun State to uphold peace, law, and order by ensuring that no individual or group engages in acts capable of causing confusion, tension, or disruption within the transport sector. The security agencies should also take appropriate lawful measures against any form of impersonation or activities that may threaten the peace and stability of the state.
I equally urge media organizations and social media platforms to verify information from credible and official sources before publication, as the spread of false narratives can create unnecessary division and undermine public confidence.
Let it be known that my administration remains committed to the welfare of union members, peaceful coexistence, and the continued development of the transport sector in Osun State. I therefore call on all members to remain united, law-abiding, and focused on the progress of our great union.
Imole Osun ntesiwaju
