The report is the final output of the for New Nigeria a nationwide consultation convened as a series of youth-led, youth-focused consultations, community town halls sessions, focus group discussions and one on one interviews, designed to engage Nigerian youths, create awareness and highlight policy issues of importance from communities to campuses. The consultations sought to canvas ideas, thoughts and opinions from Nigerian youths and advance ‘our New Nigeria’ narrative. By asking critical questions and exploring honest answers about our picture in Nigeria’s future and beyond.
With 18,000 youth engaged through 24 youth led town hall consultations, 12 focus groups discussions, 6 in depth one to one interviews, 4 online engagement sessions, our goal was simple, we want to hear from as many as possible of our peers in a safe, relaxed and engaging environment where we can be honest to ourselves and our leaders speak truth to power and look ahead together. Because the future of our nation is in our hands.

The key objective of the youth conversations were:
👍🏿 To consult young Nigerians and gather their ideas, thoughts on the New Nigeria and our future in it
👍🏿To conduct the maiden edition of the Nigerian Youth Voice Survey – an authoritative mapping and insights Nigeria youth voice on topical issues of national importance.
👍🏿To identify key issues of important young Nigerians that our leaders should focus on.
👍🏿To develop a series of ideas and recommendations based on the ideas and thoughts from youth on to present to local, state and national leaders.
👍🏿To reinforce the importance of youth voice as a voice for change and for the actualization of a new Nigeria
Our goal is to use the raised concerns to spotlight the areas that needs policy attention and use the recommendations and findings to engage our leaders and further stimulate the conversation on the needs of young Nigerians and communicate where policy efforts should be directed from the perspectives of young people.
