Girls' Voices

Girls' Voices Girls' Voices Initiative is building a girls’ rights movement.

We educate girls about their rights and empower them to champion their advocacy because GIRLS CAN! Girls' Voices is a safe space for girls to share and connect their voices on a wide variety of issues; education, health, s*x, love, fashion, career, entertainment and a whole lot of other issues girls love to talk about. Here, girls are doing the talking and sharing knowledge among each other to bui

ld a formidable force for them to engage society as they mature. Adolescent girls are a peculiar group in society that have been overlooked; governments around the world develop policies for children, youth and then adult men and sometimes women. At the adolescent stage, the girl is no longer a child and not yet in the youth category and so she seems left out of the loop. At this stage, girls are married off in some societies and they completely lose their opportunity to get an education or develop any skills that can provide equal level playing field for them in society.

Happy Workers’ Day ✊🏽✨

Today, we celebrate the people who keep the world moving. The builders, the thinkers, the doers, the ones who show up every single day and make impact happen.

But at Girls Voices, today also has us reflecting.

On the women who fought their way into the workforce in Nigeria. The ones who pushed through closed doors so others wouldn’t have to. The ones whose names we may never know, whose stories were not documented, but whose impact lives on in every opportunity women have today.

History may not have remembered them, but we are living proof of the path they paved.

And to those doing the work today, especially in advocacy. The ones pushing for change, raising voices, and holding the line even when it is hard. We see you. We honour you.

Because work is not just about labour. It is about legacy.

Highlights from when Girls Voices took the girlies to space… well, virtually 🚀😂

At the National Space Museum, Abuja, we made sure public schoolgirls were part of the conversation—because they deserve to see themselves in every space, including this one.

From curiosity to confidence, the future is expanding—and so are their dreams ✨

Girls in ICT Day 💻✨

The future isn’t just digital, it’s being shaped by girls who are bold enough to imagine, create, and lead. From AI to innovation, girls are not just participants in tech, they are building what comes next.

When girls have access to technology, they don’t just adapt to the future they design it! 👩🏽‍💻

We are excited to celebrate the first-ever International Day of Women in Industry! 👩‍🏭👩‍🔬👩‍💻✨

Women have always been central to industrial progress and innovation, yet they remain underrepresented in key areas like advanced manufacturing, tech, and leadership.

To build stronger, greener, and more future-ready industries, we must close these gaps and ensure equal access to skills, opportunities, and networks for the next generation of female industrial leaders 🌍⚡

And for anyone who thinks there are “too many” days celebrating women… not quite, we’re just getting started! 😁💪🏽

What conversations are we still not having?

Who is still being left out?

Some barriers aren’t obvious—

A meaningful day of learning, curiosity, and new possibilities 🚀✨

We appreciate the team at the Olusegun Obasanjo Space Centre for guiding the girls through the experience and helping break down space science into something engaging and understandable.

We also extend our thanks to the representative from the Secondary Education Board for coming along on this journey with us and supporting the girls’ exposure to opportunities like this.

And to our girls—may this be the beginning of dreams that feel closer, bigger, and entirely possible 🌍✨

Learning, listening, becoming 🚀📚

In these moments, the girls sat with facilitators, taking notes and soaking in knowledge about space, science, and possibility.

Every big dream starts with understanding, for these girls space started to feel a little more reachable ✨

Now this is what curiosity looks like in action 🚀✨

From VR space explorations to interactive tools that brought the universe a little closer, the girls didn’t just learn about space—they experienced it.

Every “wow” moment was a reminder that when girls are given access, imagination expands without limits 🌌

We’re excited to share highlights from our impactful collaboration with the Wikimedia Nigeria Foundation!

Still marking the International Women’s Month, on April 8, 2026, Girls Voices Initiative hosted the Wiki Gap training, equipping Nigerian women with the skills to contribute to Wikimedia and improve women’s representation online.

This session was a powerful step toward closing the gender gap in digital knowledge. From learning to edit on Wikipedia to amplifying untold stories, participants showed up with passion and purpose.

Watch the highlight video to experience the energy, engagement, and advocacy in action and hear the resounding chant: Wiki for Women!!
