"Always give whoever comes to knock at the gate water, wether you know them or not. As long as we have water in the tank, give it because you are privileged and you won't want God to put you at the receiving end"
Those are my dad's word's everytime any of our neighbors who doesn't have boreholes drilled yet come knocking at our gate to fetch water.
When he says that to my siblings and I, I remember the times when I have to go asking my friends or someone for something I am really in need of but don't have the means to get it yet. Ideally, I won't want to because I am shy and will feel really embarrassed if I am told no (whatever the reasons maybe) but I really do need it.
So because I know that feeling of being rejected, I make sure I am never the reason someone feels that way if I have the means to satisfy that request. Like my dad will always say, you were placed in that position and given that privilege is you can serve/glorify God with it. If you are not doing that, God might end up taking it from you and if you do that, you are giving God more reasons to elevate you because He knows all the glory goes back to Him.
So dear , while you wait, don't forget to give as much as you can and when you can.
