RIGHT HANDS INITIATIVE BEGINS MISSION IN BENUE,
STATE AND LG EXECUTIVES INAUGURATED.

An international NGO, Right Hands Initiative, has officially launched its Benue chapter, signaling a strong commitment to humanitarian services in the region.

At the inauguration ceremony which took place in Makurdi the state capital, National Chairman and Founder Dr. Thaddeus Osu, represented by Engr. Tengu Gede, he emphasized that RHI is open to collaboration and aims to amplify its impact through the diverse expertise of its members and congratulated the state exco, Local Government coordinators and all members.

Representatives from Benue’s three senatorial districts Dr. Aga Gwaza (Zone A), Anule Margaret (Zone B), and Dr. Agbo Ochekpe
(Zone C) —expressed gratitude to Dr. Thaddeus Osu for uniting seasoned professionals. They affirmed that Right Hands Initiative will bring tangible relief, empowerment, and sustainable change to Nigerians in Benue state.

Highlights of the event were the taking oath of the state executive and Local Government coordinators while songs and praise formed side attractions.

PRESIDENT TINUBU CHANGES SERVICE CHIEFS

President Bola Tinubu has made changes in the hierarchy of the Service Chiefs in furtherance of the efforts of the Federal Government of Nigeria to strengthen the national security architecture.

The President appointed General Olufemi Oluyede to replace General Christopher Musa as the new Chief of Defence Staff. The new Chief of Army Staff is Major-General W. Shaibu. Air Vice Marshall S.K Aneke is Chief of Air Staff while Rear Admiral I. Abbas is the new Chief of Naval Staff. Chief of Defence Intelligence Major-General E.A.P Undiendeye retains his position.

The President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, expresses most profound appreciation to the outgoing Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa and the other Service Chiefs for their patriotic service, and dedicated leadership.

The President charges the newly appointed Service Chiefs to justify the confidence reposed in them to further enhance the professionalism, vigilance and comradeship that define the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

All appointments take immediate effect.

ENFORCEMENT OF TINTED GLASS PERMIT DIRECTIVE IN BENUE STATE

The Benue State Police Command wishes to notify the general public that, in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, the enforcement of tinted glass permit regulations will commence across Benue State on Thursday, 2nd October, 2025.

Vehicle owners and drivers using tinted glasses without valid authorization are hereby advised to regularize their status to avoid arrest, prosecution, or the impoundment of vehicles.

The Command emphasizes that:

1. Tint permits are issued exclusively through the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, and the process is facilitated online through the Police Specialized Services Automation Project (POSSAP) platform.

2. Members of the public are to apply and process valid permits only via the official portal: https://possap.gov.ng. payments for tinted glass permits must be made strictly through the official online portal. No officer is authorized to collect cash or accept payments of tinted permits during vehicle checks or any roadside and forcement operation.

3. Members of the public are reminded that offering money, gifts, or any other inducement to police officers during traffic stops or window-tint/ tinted - permit inspections is a criminal act. Any person who attempts to bribe, entice, or influence an officer during a vehicle stop-including while presenting a tinted window-permit or inspection of documents will be investigated and, if found guilty, will face prosecution and penalties under the law.

4. The public is to also note that no police station is authorized to issue tinted permits.

5. Enforcement officers across the state have been directed to carry out checks on compliance without prejudice, ensuring fairness and professionalism.

This measure is not to inconvenience law-abiding citizens but to curb criminal activities, strengthen road safety, and protect lives and property across the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Innocent Ifeanyi Emenari, mnips, PSC, PhD, appeals for maximum cooperation from residents and road users to ensure smooth enforcement of this directive.

The Command appreciates the support of the people of Benue and reiterates its commitment to upholding the rule of law, protecting citizens, and ensuring a safer society for all.
