The 2026 VSLC Capacity-Building Series Has Concluded!

Over the past few weeks, participants in the 2026 Virtual Street Law Competition (VSLC) have successfully completed an intensive capacity-building series designed to equip them with skills needed to produce engaging and impactful Virtual StreetLaw content on this year's theme, Digital Democracy.

Today, we reflect on the principles of democracy.

At a time when political apathy is high due to lack of trust in the electoral process and other challenges, this Democracy Day serves as an important reminder that Citizen Participation is a cornerstone of democracy.

For democracy to flourish, citizens must be both willing and able to participate in the democratic process. This includes voting during elections, informed public debate, peaceful protests, community engagement and active involvement in civil organizations.

As we mark Democracy Day, let us all continue to play our part to ensure Democracy thrives in Nigeria.
