_STANDING AGAINST INJUSTICE: POLICE BRUTALITY, OTHER SECURITY AGENCIES HARASSMENT AND ADVOCATING FOR REFORM_

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Comrades (NANC) Kwara Axis, led by Amb. Idris Abdulwasiu Olamilekan, strongly condemns the egregious act perpetrated by a Nigerian Police Force official.

On Thursday, September 5, 2024, a tragic incident occurred, leaving the hearts of youths and students heavy with sorrow and their minds restless. A student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, was fatally shot by a police officer, a stark consequence of seeking justice as a Nigerian, a student, and a law-abiding citizen.

We unequivocally condemn police brutality in all its forms and manifestations. The excessive use of force, racial profiling, and disregard for human rights by law enforcement agencies are unacceptable and erode the trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Recent incidents of police brutality have underscored the urgent need for reform and accountability within law enforcement agencies. In light of this, we call on all comrades, youth ambassadors, and stakeholders to collaborate towards achieving justice and ensuring that such acts are curbed. Together, we can create a safer, more just, and equitable society for all.
