These are not new problems.
But they are solvable ones — if organisations, governments, and young people are willing to work in the same direction.

At Glowing Minds Initiatives, this is not theoretical for us.
It is what we show up to

Which of these three challenges do you think is the hardest to fix?
Drop your answer in the comments — 1, 2, or 3.

And if you work in youth development, policy, or community building — share this with someone who needs to see it.

There is a version of Nigeria where every young person knows the policy that shapes their future. We are not there yet. But we are closer.

This week, Glowing Minds is taking the journey into the future by leading more conversations around the National Youth Policy. Because knowledge is the first form of hard work.

And here’s the truth: Opportunities are always disguised as hard work, so most people don’t recognize them.
Reading that policy? Hard work. Showing up to the conversation? Hard work. Demanding better for your future? Hard work.

But that “hard work” is the door. Walk through it.

Your future won’t build itself. It starts with you knowing it, then working for it.

At Glowing Minds Initiatives, we believe the future of governance is already in the room, it just hasn't been handed the mic.
Our work is building the bridge between young people and the decisions that shape their world.

Share this if you know a young person with more to offer than the system is willing to receive.

A new beginning starts the moment you choose it.
This week, move. Even if it’s one small step.

As part of our ongoing advocacy for the domestication of the National Youth Policy in Niger State, our Team at led by our Executive Direcror recently met with Ms the Special Assistant to the Niger State Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development - Hon - on Global Partnership and Multilateral Engagement.

The dialogue centered on creating sustainable pathways for youth development across the state. The Special Assistant shared valuable insights into the Ministry’s current initiatives, highlighting their commitment to empowering young people.

In turn, our Executive Director - Shamsudeen Abdulrazak - articulated the core framework of the National Youth Policy, emphasizing the immense benefits a localized policy framework will bring to Niger State, alongside the practical steps required for successful domestication and implementation.

Both parties emerged from the meeting with a shared, resolute commitment to driving the domestication of the National Youth Policy forward.

📢 ANNOUNCEMENT: Launch of Our Inaugural Policy Brief 🚀

We are thrilled to officially announce the release of our very first Policy Brief, titled:
"Aligning Skills with Opportunity: Rethinking Youth Employability Policy in Nigeria."

📝 About the Brief:

Authored by our Research and Policy Associate, Yusuf Abiodun, this brief synthesizes critical data and evidence gathered from the Glowing Minds Initiatives’s Graduate Employability and Student Entrepreneurship Leadership Programmes (2022–2024).

As Nigeria's youth population continues to grow, traditional approaches to readiness must evolve. This paper offers a fresh, evidence-based perspective on why—and how—we must rethink and redesign youth employability frameworks to match the realities of the modern workforce.
