Governments can significantly impact women and girls affected by violence or crises by increasing funding for the enforcement of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act and welfare institutions. They should also support national women's rights organizations and invest in life-saving programs.

Gender-based violence knows no boundaries, it is not associated with an age group, race, and social class. Women and girls experience physical and economic abuse in communities as well as the workplace. Government should pass laws that do not tolerate gender-based violence and ensure offenders face the consequences of their actions. Awareness is not enough!
