Day 8 | Digital Violence, Stigmatization & the Silencing of Women

Digital violence does more than wound,
it shames, isolates, and silences women and girls.

Many withdraw from social media entirely out of fear:

fear of insults,
fear of exposure,
fear of being mocked,
fear of being labeled,
fear of being stigmatized.
This fear pushes women away from the digital world where their voices, ideas, and opportunities should thrive.
But women must not be chased away.
You deserve to be seen, heard, and respected — online and offline.

To protect yourself from digital abuse:

🔹 Do not engage with abusers. Starve them of attention
🔹 Block & report immediately
🔹 Strengthen privacy settings across all platforms
🔹 Document evidence: screenshots, dates, links
🔹 Avoid oversharing personal details publicly
🔹 Seek support from trusted people or organizations
🔹 Use two-factor authentication to secure accounts

Digital violence should never silence you.
Your voice matters. Your safety matters. You belong online.

Day 12 | Cyberbullying of Women Living With Disabilities

Women and girls living with disabilities face some of the harshest forms of digital violence.
Online, they are bullied, mocked, insulted, body-shamed, ridiculed, and silenced.

Many disabled women avoid going online entirely because:
• They fear humiliation
• They fear being targeted
• They fear insensitive comments
• They fear being shamed for their disability
• They fear videos or photos being used to mock them
• They fear threats disguised as “jokes”

This is not only discrimination. it is violence.
Cyberbullying crushes confidence, harms mental health, increases isolation, and reinforces stigma.
Women with disabilities deserve digital freedom too.

They deserve dignity, respect, safety, and inclusion online and offline.
Let us stand with them.
Let us protect them.
Let us make digital spaces safe for everyone.

Day 6 | Stop Sexualising Our Girls and Women Online

Today, we confront a painful truth:

Our young girls and women are being sexualised, objectified, insulted, and harassed on social media.
This is ungodly.
This is immoral.
This must stop.

We call on Christian leaders, pastors, youth ministers, women fellowships, fathers of faith:

Rise. Speak up. Teach. Correct.
Silence allows this evil to grow.
Our daughters are not objects.
Our women are not commodities.

Their dignity must be protected, online and offline.
Let righteousness lead the conversation.
Let the Church stand for purity, safety, and respect.

Day 5 | Protecting Women From Cyber GBV
Every woman and girl deserves to feel safe online and offline.
Digital spaces should never be a place of fear, bullying, or intimidation.
Today, we remind all women:
✨ You have the right to safety.
✨ You have the right to be respected.
✨ You have the right to report any abuse.
To protect yourself from Cyber GBV:
🔹 Do not engage with perpetrators — silence denies them power
🔹 Block and report harmful accounts immediately
🔹 Document evidence — screenshots, links, timestamps
🔹 Use strong privacy settings on all platforms
🔹 Reach out for support — you are not alone
🔹 Report violations to trusted systems and authorities
Cyber GBV thrives in silence.
Speak up. Report. Protect your peace.

Day 4 | Educate the Men. Protect the Women.
Today, we call on fathers, brothers, uncles, leaders, mentors, teachers, colleagues, and young men everywhere:
Respect women.
Protect girls.
Online and offline.
Always.
Digital violence does not end by silence, it ends when men choose empathy over ego, protection over power, respect over ridicule.
Let’s teach our boys and young men:
👉 how to use the internet responsibly
👉 how to speak without harming
👉 how to stand against harassment
👉 how to create safe spaces for women and girls
A safer world for women begins with enlightened men.

16 Days, 16 Voices — Ending Digital Violence Against Women & Girls - Campaign by the South-East GBV Prevention Network

This 2025 16 Days of Activism, we shine a light on a rising form of abuse that too often goes unseen: digital violence.

From cyberstalking to non-consensual image sharing, online harassment, deepfakes, and threats — too many women and girls are being pushed out of digital spaces meant to empower them.

We stand for every young woman whose voice has been silenced.
We stand for those afraid to log in.
We stand for those targeted, mocked, or manipulated online.

And today, standing with the South-East GBV Prevention Network, Ford Foundation, and all our partners, we are united around one urgent priority:
Digital violence must stop.

Safe digital spaces make stronger communities.
Every woman and girl deserves to thrive — online and offline, without fear.

Join us. 16 Days, 16 Voices.
Watch our launch video, share it, speak up, and take a stand.

Together, we can end digital violence against women and girls.

2025

Today, we join the global community to commemorate World AIDS Day, a time to honour progress, reflect on persisting challenges, and strengthen our commitment to ending HIV as a public health threat.

This year’s theme, “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response,” highlights the need for resilient, innovative, and people-centred health systems. At CRH we remain dedicated to supporting integrated services, reducing stigma, advancing data-driven interventions, and promoting regular testing and early treatment.

Together, we can build a future where disruptions do not slow progress and where everyone has access to the care they need to live healthy, empowered lives.
