I could not get quality education on time as a young boy because my parents were poor, I can tell the impact and effect of that circumstance in my life, unfortunately today millions of children are still missing out on their right to an education. They can't go to school because they have to work to survive, and do not get a quality education where they can learn and develop because they are poor and from a poor home. Where will these children be when they grow up without the chance to learn?
According to available statistics six out of every 10 Nigerian children under the age of 18 years experience some form of physical, emotional, and sexual violence before the age of 18 years.
These Cases of sexual violence against children in Nigeria have disturbingly become a regular fixture in the news, though largely unreported. This has been a source of great concern to me and by the HolySpirit we are urgently seeking ways to put an end to this ugly menace.
It may take small efforts to bring about visible Impact, but it does take great courage to shoulder the responsibility of making a difference.
Chibuisi Man Onfire is a Gospel artiste passionate about influencing the society and spearheading a movement aimed at proffering solutions and suggesting measures in awareness and security to discourage the incidences of lack of education, sexual violence and abuse against children.
We’re working to make sure every child in our communities are protected and goes to school. We’re helping to support and fund their education, support teachers, advocating girl’s education and reaching children who have to work, hawk on the street for their families survival.
